The May 10 draw saw significant wins across Spain, with major prizes going to Barcelona and Tarragona.

Loterías y Apuestas del Estado held a new ordinary draw of the National Lottery on Saturday, May 10, 2025, distributing a total of 42 million euros in prizes. This event, which occurs every weekend at 1:00 PM in the Lottery Draw Hall, utilized a multiple drum system to announce the winners.

The highlight of the draw was the first prize of 600,000 euros per series, equivalent to 60,000 euros for each winning ticket, awarded to the number 81322. This fortunate number was distributed across various locations, including Barcelona and Tarragona.

In addition to the first prize, the draw also featured a second prize of 120,000 euros per series, or 12,000 euros per ticket, which went to the number 94836. This number was also well-distributed, with winners in cities such as Sevilla, Benidorm, Arenys de Munt, Sant Feliu de Codines, Ciudad Rodrigo, and Valencia.

Moreover, the draw included several other prize categories. Four-figure extractions included the numbers 2775, 2663, 5779, and 6077, each awarded 1,500 euros per series, translating to 150 euros per ticket. Additionally, three-figure extractions were awarded to the numbers 031, 296, 499, 549, 685, 690, 816, 818, 860, and 889, which received 300 euros per series, or 30 euros per ticket.

Two-figure extractions also featured in the lottery, with numbers 03, 57, 74, 79, 82, 86, 88, 94, and 97 receiving 120 euros per series, which is 12 euros per ticket. Furthermore, the draw included three refunds, specifically the numbers 2, 4, and 8, each providing a refund of 6 euros per ticket.

Winners of the National Lottery draw on May 10, 2025, can begin collecting their prizes starting Sunday, May 11, 2025. Those who won amounts exceeding 2,000 euros must visit one of the authorized banks to claim their winnings. These banks include Abanca Corporación Bancaria, Banco de Sabadell, BBVA, CaixaBank, Cajasur Banco, Banco Cajamar, Caja Rural, Ibercaja Banco, Kutxabank, and Unicaja Banco.

For those who weren't lucky this time, there are more opportunities on the horizon. The next National Lottery draw is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2025, featuring a first prize of 30,000 euros per ticket and a second prize of 6,000 euros per ticket.

It’s also important for winners to be aware of the tax implications of their prizes. All National Lottery prizes that exceed 40,000 euros are subject to a 20% withholding tax imposed by the Tax Agency. In the case of the May 10 draw, only the first prize is subject to this tax, while the second prize remains exempt, but must be declared during the annual income tax filing.

The history of the National Lottery dates back to December 10, 1763, when the first draw of a similar nature took place. The modern format we recognize today was established in Cádiz in 1811, primarily to finance the Public Treasury, which had been impacted by the War of Independence.

In summary, the National Lottery continues to be a popular event in Spain, with millions of euros at stake and numerous winners across the country. The excitement surrounding the draws brings communities together, as people eagerly check their tickets in hopes of striking it rich.

As the next draws approach, anticipation builds among participants. Will the luck of the draw shine on you next time? Only time will tell!
