Nashville Man Arrested For Sexual Assault After Traffic Stop

A proactive traffic stop in Mt. Juliet leads to the arrest of a wanted man amid a string of recent arrests.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A 45-year-old man wanted for felony sexual assault was apprehended during a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet on Sunday afternoon, March 30, 2025. The incident marks the latest in a series of arrests involving Nashville residents following the Mt. Juliet Police Department's proactive vehicle checks.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) reported that an officer noticed a vehicle with a suspended registration on South Mt. Juliet Road, near Herschel Drive. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the driver was wanted for felony sexual assault and was also operating the vehicle with a suspended license.

“Thanks to vigilant policing and proactive patrols, we continue working hard to keep Mt. Juliet one of the safest communities around,” the MJPD stated in a Facebook post following the arrest.

The arrested man will be transferred to Nashville authorities for processing. However, details about his identity have not yet been disclosed.

This arrest is part of a larger trend, as the MJPD has recently taken at least six other Nashvillians into custody over the past week. The department has been actively addressing issues with vehicles, leading to multiple arrests for various offenses.

On March 24, 2025, an officer spotted a vehicle with an incorrect license plate traveling on Mt. Juliet Road toward Interstate 40 West. The driver, a 33-year-old convicted felon from Nashville, was found to be in possession of three guns and drugs intended for resale. He was subsequently charged with several offenses related to these items.

The following day, on March 25, another officer patrolling Lebanon Road near Lookout D observed a Ford F-150 tag improperly displayed on a Honda Accord. When the officer signaled the driver to pull over, the 29-year-old man continued for nearly half a mile into Nashville before stopping. This driver was found to have active felony warrants for fraud, theft, and forgery linked to stolen checks totaling nearly $10,000. Additionally, the vehicle contained methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Two days later, on March 27, 2025, a “suspicious vehicle investigation” in the Pleasant Grove Road area led to the arrest of a 40-year-old Nashville man wanted for felony aggravated assault with strangulation and contempt of court in Cheatham County. Alongside him, a 43-year-old Nashville woman was also arrested, facing warrants from Williamson County for failure to appear and from Madison County for probation and community corrections violations.

On March 28, another wanted Nashvillian was apprehended in the Pleasant Grove Road area. Police had stopped a vehicle for displaying the wrong license plate, discovering that the 50-year-old driver was wanted out of Nashville for two felony probation violations, one of which was related to aggravated assault.

The next day, March 29, officers stopped a car on Mt. Juliet Road near I-40 for a window tint violation. During the stop, they found a 21-year-old Nashville man wearing a ski mask who was in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen during a 2017 home burglary in Florida. He was booked into the Wilson County Jail on charges related to the stolen firearm.

Authorities have not indicated whether these incidents are connected, but they highlight the ongoing efforts of the MJPD to ensure public safety and address criminal activity in the area. The department has emphasized the importance of community vigilance and proactive policing in maintaining safety.

As Mt. Juliet continues to see increased police activity aimed at addressing vehicle-related offenses, the community remains alert and engaged in these efforts. The recent spate of arrests reflects a broader commitment to public safety and crime prevention.
