Nakayama Miyuki Honored Posthumously With Special Achievement Award

Nakayama Miyuki, the beloved Japanese actress and singer, was recently awarded the Special Achievement Award at the 66th Japan Record Awards, following her untimely passing on December 6, 2024.

Nakayama made her singing debut with the single "C" in 1985, the same year she won the Best Newcomer Award at the Japan Record Awards. Known for her hit songs like "You're My Only Shinin' Star" and her collaboration with WANDS on "Sekai中の誰よりきっと," she sold over 1.8 million records and was recognized repeatedly for her musical prowess.

Throughout her career, Nakayama's popularity soared, leading her to feature prominently on television and film, captivating audiences for decades. According to one TBS representative, "She was cherished by many, both as an actress and singer. Her contributions will not be forgotten."
