Murder Diary Reveals Shocking Twists And Emotional Depth

The latest episode captivates viewers with suspenseful drama and heartfelt performances.

The TVB drama "Murder Diary" aired an episode on March 24, 2025, featuring a new development in the case of missing children from an orphanage. Sister Yau, portrayed by Jeannie Chan, was exonerated; the real culprit behind the kidnapping and poisoning of children is revealed to be Yau Yik-hei, played by Hubert Wu. This episode was packed with both suspense and emotional depth, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

In a tense moment, Chun-long, portrayed by Brian Cheung, and his adopted daughter Chi, played by Kayan Yau, exposed Yau Yik-hei as the murderer of security guard Kan-wing. Just when it seemed that Chun-long would be killed by Yau Yik-hei, Sister Yau arrived just in time to save Chi. However, chaos ensued, leading to a car accident that left Sister Yau injured. Thankfully, Chun-long and others arrived to prevent further tragedy.

Meanwhile, Yau Yik-hei, in a state of mental disarray, attacked children on the street. Sister Yau, with the help of Kwok Pak-fei, portrayed by Jonathan Chan, managed to subdue him. The episode not only showcased thrilling action but also revealed Sister Yau's heartbreaking backstory. It was disclosed that she married Kwok Mun at a young age and suffered abuse throughout her marriage. In a desperate attempt to protect a child named Keung-zai, portrayed by Chantel Yiu, Sister Yau stabbed her abusive husband and was subsequently arrested.

Tragically, Keung-zai died in a car accident while chasing after his arrested mother, a scene that brought tears to viewers' eyes. Jeannie Chan delivered an impressive performance, showcasing her emotional range in five crying scenes throughout the episode. One particularly poignant moment was when she placed an egg tart for the deceased Keung-zai, a scene she described as deeply painful. "I remember this scene well; it truly hurt my heart. I cried for a long time after filming, even after the cameras stopped rolling. These moments are the most realistic, as the most genuine feelings often come from the simplest things, usually involving one person and a simple object," Chan stated in an interview with TVB.COM.

In addition to her emotional scenes, Chan paid attention to the physicality of her character. After a dramatic jump from a platform, Sister Yau's mobility issues were reflected in Chan’s performance, as she wore leg weights to portray her character's struggles. "During filming, I sometimes forgot I was wearing the weights, but the hardest part was not being able to eat well. I love food and worry about not being able to get into character if I’m too happy," Chan explained.

Producer Jazz Boon praised Chan's dedication, noting her professionalism and the lengths she went to in order to portray the character's sorrow effectively. He mentioned that Chan often surprised him with her commitment to the role, making her performance all the more impactful.

Meanwhile, the drama has also been a topic of amusement online. In a recent episode, viewers found a scene where Sister Yau wore a head bandage after being injured by Yau Yik-hei quite humorous. The bandage was wrapped tightly, but some viewers noted that it appeared to shift during the scene, leading to comparisons with a classic moment from the Taiwanese drama "Feng Shui Family," where a character's bandage was humorously high on their head, leading to jokes about a "broken skull." Social media users had a field day with this, with comments suggesting that Chan's portrayal was reminiscent of this iconic moment.

As the drama continues to air, it has received strong viewership ratings, with many praising Jeannie Chan's ability to convey both the strength and vulnerability of her character. The show's blend of suspense, emotional storytelling, and relatable characters has resonated with audiences.

In the latest episode, which aired on March 26, Rosita Kwok showcased her martial arts skills as she portrayed a character involved in a rescue scene. Her performance was convincing, with sharp eyes and powerful kicks, although behind the scenes, her movements resembled a student rushing home from school, adding a humorous contrast to her on-screen persona.

Tonight's episode, airing on March 27, 2025, promises even more excitement as Kwok's character will be displaying her "fancy fists and embroidered legs" while delivering a fierce kick to Brian Cheung's character's vital parts. This follows an earlier incident where Cheung's character suffered an injury after being attacked by scorpion venom, raising the stakes for his character's safety.

The combination of intense drama and comedic moments has made "Murder Diary" a standout in TVB's lineup, drawing in viewers who appreciate both the thrilling plot twists and the emotional depth of the characters. As the series unfolds, fans are eager to see how the story progresses and how the characters continue to evolve amidst the chaos.
