Moxley Retains Title At AEW Revolution 2025

Thrilling matches mark the PEW Revolution event with significant title defenses and rivalries heating up.

A night of high stakes and dramatic encounters unfolded at AEW Revolution 2025, staged at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The main event witnessed Jon Moxley successfully defending the AEW World Championship against Adam Copeland, known as Cope, as well as Christian Cage, culminating in another dramatic chapter for the Badger.[1]

The show opened with “Hangman” Adam Page claiming victory over Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) after a fierce, gritty battle. With the crowd actively engaged, Page executed his signature Buckshot Lariat for the pinfall after 19 minutes and 15 seconds of intense wrestling, establishing the mood for the night to follow.[2]

The momentum continued with Mercedes Mone, who retained her TBS Title against Momo Watanabe. Swerve Strickland also made headlines by defeating Ricochet, securing the next title shot for the AEW World Championship. AEW’s Continental Championship clash followed, featuring Kazuchika Okada defending his title against Brody King. The match was hard-hitting, showcasing Okada’s remarkable resilience. After 11 minutes and 45 seconds, Okada executed his Rainmaker for the win, retaining the title as he continues to solidify his legacy within the promotion.[5]

The Hurt Syndicate, comprising Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, retained their AEW Tag Team Championships over The Outrunners—Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd—in dominant style. Next, Toni Storm defended her AEW Women's World Championship title against Mariah May. Their brutal “Hollywood Ending” match unfolded violently, with both performers leaving everything on the field. Kenny Omega faced off against Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International title, engaging audiences with dramatic sequences across their 28-minute battle, which ended with Omega executing his signature crucifix pin for the victory, reclaiming gold and energizing the Los Angeles crowd.[8]

The Steel Cage match between Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher was the penultimate bout, as the two showcased their impressive wrestling skills combined with innovative and often violent maneuvers. Ospreay clinched victory after executing his Hidden Blade followed by the Tiger Driver 91, which left both competitors exhausted but the audience raving after 28 minutes and 41 seconds of action-packed interference and intense spots.[9]

The culmination of the night featured Moxley defending his world title against Cope and Cage. The match, filled with interference from Wheeler Yuta and Jay White, included dramatic storytelling elements as Yuta landed his Busaiku Knee and Christian Cage made his presence felt. After Moxley applied his Bulldog Choke to Cage, the champion retained after 26 minutes and 32 seconds, escaping yet again with the title.
