The agricultural sector in Monoufia is witnessing a significant surge in wheat production, with the Directorate of Agriculture announcing remarkable progress in the harvesting season. As of May 8, 2025, a total of 50,527 feddans of wheat have been harvested out of the 100,576 feddans planted this season. This announcement was made by Engineer Nasser Muhammad Abu Taleb, the Director of the Directorate of Agriculture in Monoufia, who highlighted the importance of ongoing efforts in ensuring a successful harvest.
According to the official statement, the harvesting operations have been accompanied by a systematic follow-up with relevant authorities to guarantee the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. "We are committed to ensuring that the harvesting and supply operations proceed smoothly while adhering to all technical and organizational standards," Abu Taleb remarked. This commitment reflects the collaborative efforts between farmers and the agricultural authorities.
So far, the operations have yielded a total of 237,875 ardebs of wheat, which includes 260 ardebs of bran. The total weight of the supplied wheat has reached an impressive 34,181 tons and 289 kilograms. The distribution of the wheat supply has been organized effectively among various entities.
The Agricultural Bank of Egypt has received 53,414 ardebs, weighing a total of 8,012 tons and 100 kilograms. Meanwhile, Matayhan Misr has accepted 94,511 ardebs, including 453 ardebs of bran, amounting to 14,176 tons and 718 kilograms. Gharbia Mills has contributed by receiving 2,892 ardebs, of which 930 ardebs were bran, translating to a total weight of 433 tons and 938 kilograms. Additionally, the Egyptian Company Holding has taken in 77,056 ardebs, including 887 ardebs of bran, which totals 11,558 tons and 533 kilograms.
Abu Taleb's emphasis on continuous coordination with relevant authorities underscores the importance of teamwork in achieving agricultural goals. "These results are a testament to the hard work of farmers and field teams, along with the close cooperation between the Directorate and concerned institutions," he stated.
In another significant development, the General Authority for Surveying has announced the appointment of new members to the Review Committee, as reported by Egypt News on May 8, 2025. This committee will oversee reviews leading up to the end of the current term on July 4, 2025. The appointments include Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Zouman as Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Al-Hamoudi, and Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Al-Sheikh as members.
The start date for their membership is also noted as November 10, 1446 AH, which corresponds to May 8, 2025. The biographical data of the appointed members has been shared in a special circular, providing insights into their qualifications and past experiences.
Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Zouman, the newly appointed Chairman, holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from King Saud University. He has previously worked for two years in the Ministry of Finance and has spent 26 years at SABIC, where he advanced through various financial, accounting, and tax departments. He has also served as the Manager of International Transport and Shipping and as the Manager of Corporate Monitoring.
Mr. Muhammad Al-Hamoudi, another independent member, has a rich background in finance. He has worked at the Arab Center for Security Studies and Training as a Financial Manager before joining SABIC, where he held several positions including Collections Manager, Control Manager, and Customer Service Manager. He later moved to Al-Kharj Industrial Company as a Financial Manager.
Finally, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Al-Sheikh, the third member, also possesses a strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University and a master's degree in business and accounting from the University of Aberdeen in the UK. His career includes significant roles such as Senior Auditor and Financial Controller at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, as well as Financial Manager at multiple prestigious institutions including King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
