Momoiro Clover Z is set to host their 8th annual song battle, titled "Love's New Year's Eve," on December 31, 2024, bringing together some of the biggest names in the idol industry for what promises to be another spectacular celebration. This year's event continues the beloved tradition, with fans eagerly anticipating the dazzling lineup and unique performances.
The opening act for the White Team will feature Kishi Band, delivering what they've dubbed "the strongest performance exceeding eight minutes." Not to be outdone, the Red Team will kick off their segment with the hit performance from Chō Tokimeki Sendenbu, joyfully titled “The Cutest Above All!”, sure to set the tone for the evening.
The event will culminate with special performances by renowned artists, concluding with memorable pieces. The final act will showcase Matsuzaki Shigeru alongside Kanako Momota’s piano backtrack for "If I Could Play the Piano," ensuring it will be a moment to cherish as they serenade the audience.
Notably, one of the highlights of the night will be the highly anticipated "Sasaki Ayaka Production: Over 100 Non-Stop 'Love' Idol Medley 2024." This segment promises to unite more than 100 idols from various popular groups including =LOVE, Juice=Juice, and many others who will collaborate for special performances not found anywhere else.
Sasaki Ayaka will take on the role of comprehensive producer, overseeing every aspect from stage direction to choreography and costume design. She will also participate as one of the performing idols, making the night uniquely personal and intimate.
This year, new corners have been added to showcase the thrill of nostalgia and joy, including the segment "Tears Bring Laughter - A Tribute to Loved Ones 2024" which will feature popular anime songs reflecting on the year gone by.
Another thrilling addition this year includes wrestler Onita Atsushi, who is marking his 50th anniversary with wrestling and will undertake the unprecedented task of participating in groundbreaking death matches during the event, adding another layer of excitement.
Among the additional activities planned, Takagi Reni will conduct her first solo corner titled "Reni-chan's Second Half Adventure," where she will engage with the audience and wrestle with contemporary issues humorously.
Especially noteworthy is the one-time performance by the special group T-RIO, who will present saxophone music alongside participants Tamai Shiori, Shinjida, and Takagi Regi, demonstrating the variety prepared for this year’s celebration.
More than just music, the event will welcome many renowned artists such as Sada Masashi and HYDE, providing the fans with countless memorable medleys and experiences to look forward to.
Also slated to perform is Ayame Shimazu, who will present special renditions of "Think" and "Amazing Grace” created exclusively for this event, enhancing the festive atmosphere with familiar yet fresh interpretations of cherished tunes.
The event has integrated elements from modern media as well, inviting fans from the VTuber community, with special guest appearances from well-known figures from popular animation and Lotune performances.
