Mogi Guaçu And Dourados Adjust Public Services For Holidays

Residents should note changes in health services and municipal operations during the Easter holiday period.

As the Easter holiday approaches, residents in Mogi Guaçu and Dourados are gearing up for a series of schedule changes affecting public services. With the national holiday of Passion of Christ on April 18 and Tiradentes' Day on April 21, both cities have announced altered operations for municipal services, health care, and public facilities.

In Mogi Guaçu, the city hall and associated agencies will close for public service on Thursday, April 17, Good Friday, and Monday, April 21. According to local authorities, normal operations will resume on Tuesday, April 22, at 8:00 AM. This closure coincides with the start of the Tríduo Pascal, a significant period in the Christian calendar.

Health services in Mogi Guaçu will see a mix of closures and continued operations. While 19 Basic Health Units (UBSs) will not provide service on the aforementioned dates, urgent and emergency care will still be available at the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) of Jardim Novo II, UPA of Jardim Santa Marta, and the Municipal Hospital Dr. Tabajara Ramos. Additionally, the Health Department will maintain operations at sentinel units for dengue patients from April 17 to April 21, with hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the UBS of Jardim Guaçu Mirim and the UBS of Jardim Zaniboni I.

In terms of municipal services, cemeteries in Mogi Guaçu will remain open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with administrative staff available. Household waste collection will proceed as usual on Thursday and will resume on Saturday, April 19. However, there will be no collection on Good Friday, April 18, and services will also run on Monday, April 21.

Free fairs will be operational on Thursday, April 17, and Saturday, April 19, with the traditional free fair at Parque Cidade Nova also occurring on Easter Sunday, April 20. Notably, the Friday fair in Vila Paraíso will take place one day earlier, on Thursday, and the Night Fair Sabor da Rua will run on Holy Saturday, April 19, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

For emergency services, SAMAE and Civil Defense teams will be on standby, reachable via phone at 08000-102-028 for SAMAE and 199 for Civil Defense. Sports Centers will close on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, but will reopen on Saturday, April 19. The Poupatempo service will operate normally on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but will be closed on Good Friday and will resume on Tuesday, April 22.

Meanwhile, in Dourados, the city has declared an optional point on April 17, leading to a five-day extended holiday for municipal employees due to the national holidays. Decree 215, published in the Official Gazette on April 7, outlines the operational rules for public services during this time.

Essential health services in Dourados will continue to function throughout the holiday. The Emergency Care Unit (UPA), Hospital da Vida, and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) will remain operational. However, nearly all basic health units will close and resume services on Tuesday, April 22.

The pharmacy at the Pronto Atendimento Médico (PAM) will remain open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the extended holiday, although specialist consultations will be suspended. The PAM vaccination room will be available for public vaccinations on April 15 and 16 from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and from April 17 to 21 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

In addition, the UBS Bianor Alves da Silva (Seleta) will operate throughout the holiday, prioritizing medical emergencies and influenza vaccinations from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Schools in Dourados will adhere to the published school calendar, while garbage collection and ecopoint operations will run normally, except for Good Friday.

As the holiday period approaches, residents are advised to plan accordingly, taking note of the various service changes in both cities. Whether for health services, public facilities, or community events, understanding these schedules will help ensure a smooth transition into the holiday festivities.
