Málaga CF Prepares For Key Clash Against Racing Club

The team trains intensively, adjusting squad with injury concerns before matchday.

Málaga CF is gearing up for their pivotal league match against Real Racing Club, scheduled for tomorrow evening at 21:00. Just over 24 hours prior to their departure for Cantabria, the team convened for training at the Blue and White stadium, where head coach Sergio Pellicer presided over the session.

The afternoon training began at around 16:30, with all 25 players fully engaged. The session focused on several key areas: physical activation to warm up the players, small-sided games to promote teamwork and tactical awareness, and set-piece strategy drills aimed at fine-tuning their approach for the match against Racing.

Notably, the training saw the inclusion of some promising talent from the MCF Academy. Juvenil goalkeeper Lucas Jiménez joined the squad alongside reserve team players Ochoa, Cordero, Izan Merino, and the recently renewed Chupe, providing depth and vigor to the roster.

Meanwhile, two first-team players, Juanpe and Castel, trained separately, receiving specialized attention from physical trainer José Antonio Lizana. Unfortunately, the injury updates aren't entirely positive, as Dani Lorenzo is recovering from recent surgery due to pubic osteopathy, and Luismi is sidelined with a rib fracture. Their absence will be felt, but coach Pellicer remains focused on ensuring the rest of the squad is fit and ready.

Following the training session, the team set off for Cantabria, determined and prepared for the upcoming challenge. The match, which is part of LALIGA HYPERMOTION matchday 25, promises to be competitive as both teams aim to secure valuable points.

Pellicer has announced the call-up of 23 players for the trip to Santander, cementing the team’s strategy as they face Racing. The squad includes goalkeeper Herrero, defenders Gabilondo and C. Puga, midfielders Einar and Ramón, and forwards like D. Larrubia and Kevin Medina, among others. The only notable change from the previous match against Real Zaragoza is the inclusion of Diego Murillo, who returns to the squad, replacing the injured Luismi.

The full list of players called up for the match comprises: A. Herrero, Gabilondo, C. Puga, Einar, Pastor, Ramón, Baturina, D. Larrubia, Kevin Medina, Manu N. Molina, Carlos López, Víctor, Murillo, Dioni, Dani Sánchez, Nelson Monte, Y. Rahmani, Sangalli, Lobete, Antoñito C., Chupe, Izan M., and Aaron Ochoa.

With training concluded and the squad finalized, Málaga CF looks toward their confrontation with Real Racing Club with optimism and determination. The team hopes to translate their hard work on the training pitch to success on matchday, aiming to provide their supporters with another memorable performance at El Sardinero.
