Miss France 2025: Angélique Angarni-Filopon Shines Bright

Freshly crowned, Angélique Angarni-Filopon shares her story and confronts challenges.

Angélique Angarni-Filopon, newly crowned Miss France 2025, has been captivating audiences with her charm and confidence during her whirlwind media appearances following her historic victory on December 14, 2024. At the age of 34, she has made headlines not just for her beauty but for breaking the mold as the first Miss France from Martinique and the first to have tattoos.

This remarkable start to her reign has seen Angélique gracing numerous television shows, including the popular ‘Touche pas à mon poste!’ hosted by Cyril Hanouna, where her personal life became the topic of discussion. While Angélique is keeping most of her personal details under wraps, she did openly share about her life so far. "I have no children, I'm not married, and the rest remains secret for now," she expressed with a warm smile. Hanouna, intrigued by her situation, jokingly remarked, “You’re not likely to have children this year, are you?” to which Angélique readily agreed.

Her media tour commenced with various platforms such as ‘Culture Médias’ on Europe 1, ‘Quotidien’ on TMC, and ‘Bonjour’ on TF1. Each appearance sees her discussing not only her new roles and responsibilities but also reacting to critiques surrounding her age. "You have reassured many people with your victory. At 34, you look magnificent," complimented Hanouna, encapsulating the sentiment felt by many since her election. Angélique’s confidence shines through, especially as she addresses the backlash she has faced about being perceived as too old for the title. “They keep reminding me of my age, but I feel young at heart at 34!” she replied humorously during one of her interviews, making it clear she’s more than her years.

Angélique’s grace extends beyond her interviews; she will also make her acting debut on M6’s “Scènes de Ménages” on January 6. The plot will revolve around her surprise appearance for the birthday of one of the characters, highlighting her growing versatility. This shift to acting reflects her comfortable presence on-screen, several media experts note her natural charisma as noteworthy, considering her previous experience as cabin crew for a major airline. "We were taught how to present ourselves and communicate well," she noted on BFMTV, where she shared insights about her previous careers leading up to this moment.

Another subject surprisingly revealed during media appearances is Angélique’s two tattoos. Previously, such body art was notorious for disqualifying candidates from the competition, but rules have relaxed over the years, allowing Angélique to flaunt her unique expressions. One tattoo, located on her wrist, symbolizes infinity, which she got during a trip to Miami with her sister when she was 20. The second tattoo holds special meaning, with the phrase 'En béni'—translated to 'I am blessed'—written in Creole, referring to her rich heritage and cultural background. "With these tattoos, I want to show my identity and make everyone feel included," she expressed during her reveal on BFMTV.

Though she is reveling in her victorious moment, Angélique has not been untouched by criticism, particularly around her age—a conversation exacerbated by societal expectations of beauty and youth. Defending her against naysayers, Eve Gilles, the previous titleholder, took to Instagram stating, "How many more years will people take to understand what harassment means? Angélique will always remain Miss France 2025.” Gilles expressed outrage contrasted with the support from numerous fans who celebrated Angélique’s groundbreaking win and her representation of older women.

The spotlight on Angélique Angarni-Filopon is more than just about beauty; it mirrors changing perceptions within the beauty pageant industry and society. With each interview and every camera flash, Angélique is showcasing resilience and redefining what it means to embody the title of Miss France. "I want to go beyond those superficial judgments and show my energetic side!" Angélique expressed passionately, leading many to believe she will inspire the next generation of women to believe they can achieve their dreams, regardless of societal norms.

Her continuing presence on social media and television indicates her drive to engage with the public, appealing not only to young women but also to those who feel underrepresented. Angélique Angarni-Filopon’s victory and her brave stance against criticism symbolize hope for many. The future looks bright; the audience awaits her impactful reign, thrilled to see what she will accomplish as Miss France.
