Miriana Trevisan Reflects On Fame And Personal Struggles

The beloved showgirl opens up about her life, relationships, and hopes for the future.

Miriana Trevisan, a prominent figure in Italian television and a beloved showgirl, recently opened up about her life and career in an interview, reflecting on her journey from a shy young girl to a national icon. At 52 years old, Trevisan has been a part of various popular programs, including Non è la Rai, Striscia la Notizia, La Corrida, and Pressing, and she has left an indelible mark on the entertainment scene.

In her candid conversation, Trevisan discussed her early experiences in the industry, recalling how she was initially hesitant to join Non è la Rai because she was offered a role as an extra instead of a dancer. "Esasperato, papà mi ricattò: 'Se non accetti non ti pago più le lezioni di danza'. Allora ho detto sì," she shared, highlighting the pressure from her father that ultimately led her to accept the role.

Trevisan's journey in television began when she was just 16 years old. She expressed her discomfort with the idea of wearing revealing outfits, stating, "Io il perizoma non me lo metto" (I won’t wear the thong). This sentiment stemmed from her embarrassment about being half-naked, which she faced during her early performances. Despite her initial reluctance, she found her footing as a dark-haired Velina, alongside Laura Freddi, who was the blonde counterpart.

Throughout her career, Trevisan faced numerous challenges, including the pressure of fame. She described how her popularity led to extreme situations, saying, "A casa i miei staccarono il citofono perché suonavano a ogni ora" (At home, my parents disconnected the intercom because it rang at all hours). Her fame became overwhelming, forcing her to adapt her lifestyle significantly. "Provai la bici, mi facevano cadere. Il motorino, mi inseguivano. Alla fine mi spostavo in taxi" (I tried biking, but they made me fall. They chased me on my scooter. In the end, I moved around by taxi).

Trevisan also recounted her fear of legendary producer Gianni Boncompagni, admitting that she would hide in the bathroom when he was around. "Parlarci mi metteva soggezione, se lo vedevo scappavo" (Talking to him intimidated me; if I saw him, I would run away). Despite her fear, Boncompagni recognized her talent, stating, "Però davanti alle telecamere Miriana è una tigre" (But in front of the cameras, Miriana is a tiger).

In addition to her career, Trevisan's personal life has been a topic of discussion. She revealed that she has been single for six years, stating, "Tendo a stare per conto mio, anche oggi sono single da sei anni" (I tend to be on my own; today I am still single for six years). She shared her perspective on relationships, admitting that she has been cheated on many times, saying, "E pure tanto, mica poco" (And a lot, not a little). Despite her past experiences, she remains hopeful for the future.

Trevisan has also opened up about living in chastity, a choice she made as she waits for the right partner. "Non mi prenda alla lettera. Tendo alla castità, ma ho desideri come tutti" (Don’t take me literally. I tend toward chastity, but I have desires like everyone). She emphasized that she is not interested in casual relationships, stating, "Non sono fatta per andare a destra e manca, sono sfidanzata, ho detto molti no" (I’m not made to go here and there; I’m single, and I’ve said no many times).

When discussing her ideal partner, Trevisan expressed her preference for someone mature, stating, "Non troppo giovane, dai 45 in su. Elegante, colto" (Not too young, from 45 and up. Elegant, cultured). She also mentioned that it's important for her partner to be intelligent, as she finds herself bored quickly otherwise.

Reflecting on a particularly painful chapter in her life, Trevisan spoke about a toxic relationship that left lasting scars. "Un uomo che mi ha fatto del male, che mi ha plagiata, controllata, ricattata" (A man who hurt me, who manipulated, controlled, and blackmailed me). She advised others in similar situations to seek help from those who care about them, highlighting the importance of support during difficult times.

Despite acknowledging that her glory days may be behind her, Trevisan remains optimistic about her future in television. "Sono già tornata. Appena ho potuto, nel 2021 mi sono fatta sei mesi di Grande Fratello" (I have already returned. As soon as I could, in 2021, I did six months of Grande Fratello). She continues to make guest appearances on various shows, proudly stating, "Resto comunque la 'Mirianona' nazionale" (I remain the national 'Mirianona').

Trevisan's story is one of resilience, reflecting the complexities of fame, personal struggles, and the search for genuine connection. Her journey resonates with many, showcasing the challenges faced by women in the entertainment industry and the importance of self-acceptance and support.
