The Ministry of Finance has officially begun disbursing salaries for state employees today, March 23, 2025, a process slated to continue over the next five days. This announcement outlines the salary distribution schedule for March 2025 to employees across all ministries and affiliated entities, specifying a total of five days for salary payments and three additional days designated for the disbursement of employee entitlements.
Dr. Sherif Khairy, Head of the Accounts Sector, stated that salary payments for the month of March will commence today, with additional payments for outstanding dues scheduled for April 6, 9, and 10. Salaries will be accessible through electronic financial systems and ATMs, encouraging employees to be patient and avoid overcrowding at ATM locations. Dr. Khairy urged all employees in governmental agencies to be mindful of these instructions as salaries can be accessed at any given time from the designated commencement date.
The monthly minimum wage for March 2025 has been set as follows: 12,200 EGP for the Excellent Grade, 10,200 EGP for the High Grade, 9,200 EGP for the General Manager, 8,200 EGP for the First Grade, 8,000 EGP for the Second Grade, 7,500 EGP for the Third Grade, 7,000 EGP for the Fourth Grade, 6,500 EGP for the Fifth Grade, and 6,000 EGP for the Sixth Grade.
Employees from several key organizations will receive their March salaries today, including those from the House of Representatives, National Security Council, and the Central Auditing Organization, among others. For others in entities such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Electricity, they will receive their payments tomorrow, March 24.
Previously, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi directed the government to undertake measures to raise the minimum wage for public sector employees to reach 7,000 EGP monthly, in addition to increasing wages based on functional grades, which will see raises ranging from 1,100 to 1,600 EGP. These adjustments are expected to be applied officially starting in July 2025. Furthermore, the percentage increase in the minimum wage for employees in senior grades will be around 13%, while those in the sixth-grade category will receive an increase of up to 18%.
Starting from July 2025, the minimum wage increases will be as follows: for the Excellent Grade, from 12,200 EGP to 13,800 EGP; for High Grade, from 10,200 EGP to 11,800 EGP; for General Manager Grade, from 9,200 EGP to 10,300 EGP; for First Grade, from 8,200 EGP to 9,800 EGP; for Second Grade, from 8,000 EGP to 8,500 EGP. Additionally, employees in the Third Grade will see an increase from 7,500 EGP to 8,000 EGP, while Fourth Grade will rise from 7,000 EGP to 7,300 EGP, and service jobs in the Fifth and Sixth Grades will see similar increments, elevating pay ranges from 6,000 EGP to 7,100 EGP.
The Ministry of Finance has also provided multiple avenues for state employees to access their salaries, including ATMs, various bank branches, and the Egyptian Postal Service. This strategic approach will facilitate smooth cash flow for employees, ensuring they receive their compensations in a timely and efficient manner.
In light of these developments, the Ministry emphasizes the importance of employees being informed about the payment process and refraining from overwhelming ATM networks, thus ensuring a smooth and orderly disbursement period for everyone's benefit.
