Middle East Energy 2025 Highlights Battery Technology Innovations

The event showcases over 1,600 exhibitors and pivotal discussions on energy storage solutions.

Middle East Energy (MEE) 2025 opened today at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), placing a major spotlight on the future of energy storage and battery technology—a sector now at the heart of the global energy transition. Held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the event marks its largest edition to date in its 49-year legacy, with a dedicated push toward energy storage innovation and infrastructure.

A key highlight of this year’s event is the regional debut of The Battery Show Middle East, one of the most anticipated additions to MEE. Spanning an entire exhibition hall, the new feature brings together over 200 specialized exhibitors and launches the inaugural Battery Show Conference, designed to address the region’s rapidly evolving storage and electrification needs.

The Battery Show Conference will explore critical topics such as grid-scale energy storage systems, electric vehicle infrastructure development, smart grid integration, supply chain optimization in battery manufacturing, and the growing role of batteries in renewable energy deployment. According to market forecasts, the Middle East and Africa battery market is expected to grow to US $9.98 billion by 2029, driven by policy support, increasing electrification, and a surge in renewable energy investments.

Mark Ring, Group Director of Energy Events at Informa Markets, stated, “The Battery Show Middle East is not just a regional first—it’s a strategic milestone for the industry. As energy storage becomes the backbone of clean energy systems, this platform is vital for accelerating innovation and collaboration.”

In addition to The Battery Show, energy storage solutions are deeply integrated across the wider MEE exhibition, which features 1,600 exhibitors from over 90 countries and expects over 40,000 energy professionals in attendance. From battery storage systems and smart energy management to hybrid backup power solutions, the event provides a comprehensive look at how storage is enabling grid flexibility, resilience, and clean energy integration.

Six conference tracks are running alongside the show, with storage taking center stage in discussions across the Middle East Energy Leadership Summit, Technical Seminar powered by IEEE, Global Innovation Forum, Intersolar & ees Middle East Conference, and the Africa Business Leaders Forum.

Infrastructure companies like Riyadh Cables Group are also showcasing how advanced cable systems support scalable and resilient storage deployment. “As demand grows for high-performance systems, our innovations are built to support the energy networks of the future,” said Bassam Naes, Group Marketing Director.

Middle East Energy 2025 is poised to shape the narrative around energy storage as a core enabler of sustainability, energy access, and regional decarbonization. For the next three days, Dubai becomes a global hub for redefining how energy is stored, delivered, and optimized for a net-zero future.

More than 40,000 global energy professionals, including over 500 key buyers, will descend on DWTC to explore the innovations of 1,600 exhibitors from more than 90 countries. Sixteen halls, including 17 international pavilions, will showcase solutions spanning the energy value chain from power generation and storage to clean mobility and smart grid technologies.

Saeed Mohammed Al-Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, will open the show and lead the high-level plenary of the Middle East Energy Leadership Summit. “We’ve built this edition of Middle East Energy to reflect the dynamism, ambition, and transformative potential of the region’s energy ecosystem,” said Mark Ring.

Complementing the Battery Show Conference, the wider Middle East Energy programme brings together more than 150 thought leaders across a further five conferences: the Middle East Energy Leadership Summit, Technical Seminar powered by IEEE, Intersolar & ees Middle East Conference, Global Innovation Forum, and the Africa Business Leaders Forum.

“We are offering a comprehensive agenda that will empower stakeholders to navigate the rapidly evolving energy landscape,” Ring added. “Each conference is designed to spark critical conversations, connect industry and academic minds, and explore the innovations reshaping how we generate, distribute, and consume power.”

The Riyadh Cables Group, a titanium sponsor of Middle East Energy 2025, will use the show to underscore the critical role that advanced infrastructure plays in enabling future-ready energy solutions. “Middle Eastern infrastructure projects are reshaping the cable industry, driving demand for innovative, high-performance products,” said Naes. “From smart cities and renewable energy developments to advanced data centres, cables are the unseen force powering the region’s transformation.”

With its record-breaking scale and future-focused agenda, Middle East Energy 2025 promises to be a defining moment for the global energy sector. Over the next three days, Dubai will be the epicentre of regional energy innovation as the Middle East and Africa transition toward a more sustainable and interconnected future.
