Microsoft Thailand Unveils Hybrid Workplace At One Bangkok

The new office enhances collaboration and prioritizes employee well-being through innovative design and technology.

Microsoft Thailand has recently unveiled its new hybrid workplace at One Bangkok, heralded as the "office of the future" by the company’s Managing Director, Thana Wat Suathumphan. This move reflects the latest trends in adaptive workspaces, moving away from traditional office models to embrace flexibility and collaboration, aiming to accommodate the needs of today’s workforce.

After nearly 30 years at their previous location, the decision to shift was fueled by the expiration of their office lease. Thana explained, "We realized we needed to search for something more fitting than our old space, guiding our search with real data on employee preferences. This new location is set to dazzle and invite talented individuals to join our ambitious team." The aim is to create not only functional workspaces but also environments where employees feel energized to innovate.

The new office is strategically located at the intersection of Rama IV Road and Witthayu Road, making it highly accessible for both employees and business partners. It capitalizes on its central location, allowing quick access to major public transport routes, including the BTS and MRT lines. There’s even EV shuttle service available to ease commutes.

Thana emphasized the importance of designing the space based on real feedback from employees, identifying their desired work environments and integrating those needs thoughtfully. The new office encompasses technological advancements, focusing on data-driven design principles.

Reflecting on the core principle of Growth Mindset deemed fundamental by Microsoft, the space encourages continuous learning and exchange of ideas among team members, blurring the lines between collaboration and individual work. “The new space encourages engagement and has tech-driven solutions for collaboration,” Thana stated.

With meeting rooms named after popular Thai dishes, the office vividly embodies local culture, blending the high-tech environment with flavors of Thai heritage. This thoughtful integration allows the workplace to resonate with both employees and visitors, creating familiarity and comfort.

Central to Microsoft Thailand's modern ethos, the office is also expected to increase the on-site employee presence to 50%, up from the current 30%. This shift aligns with their commitment to retain the flexibility of hybrid work, enabling team members to choose how they stay productive and engaged.

The office’s design focuses on sustainability, employing eco-friendly materials and smart technology to minimize environmental impact. Thana noted, "Well-being is key as we craft this new workplace; our design supports the health of our employees through enhanced workspace comfort."

By prioritizing design elements aimed at fostering diversity and accessibility, Microsoft Thailand's new office space positions itself as more than just another office. It seeks to be forward-thinking, aligning productivity with lifestyle. “The goal is to create not merely workspaces but platforms where people, technology, and ideas converge,” concluded Thana.
