The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has officially declared the much-anticipated SSLC (Class 10) results for 2025. Announced on April 5, 2025, at 11 AM, students across the state can now check their individual scores on the MBOSE official websites, including mbose.in, mboseresults.in, and megresults.nic.in. This year's results showcase remarkable performances from students, with some excellent results from top institutions and districts.
In a remarkable turn of events, the top position in the MBOSE SSLC Class 10 results has been shared by two exceptional students, both securing 582 marks. Leisha Agarwal from St. Margaret's Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and Avila Kathrene P Lyngdoh from North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Jowai, have not only secured the highest marks but also demonstrated consistent hard work and dedication throughout their academic journey.
The second position is also held by two students, each with an impressive score of 578 marks: Evanshan Nongrum from Sacred Heart Boys' Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and Pori Panday from Jawaharlal Nehru Higher Secondary School, Phulbari. Their achievements reflect their commitment to excellence, setting a high benchmark for future batches of students.
Equally competitive, the third position was secured by three students who scored 576 marks: Anushmita Choudhury from St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Shillong; Sourav Pandey from Alpha English Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh; and Eulogemene Rilin L Suting from K.J.P. Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School, Jowai. These students have shown resilience and diligence in achieving top positions in a highly competitive environment, making their schools and communities proud.
Apart from the remarkable individual performances, the MBOSE SSLC 2025 results also reflect outstanding district-wise performances. The overall pass percentage for the state stands at 87.10%, with certain districts surpassing the state average. East Khasi Hills recorded the highest pass percentage of 92.54%, with a total of 15,656 students appearing and 14,489 passing. West Khasi Hills also performed exceptionally well, with a pass percentage of 90.50%.
The East Garo Hills district achieved a commendable pass percentage of 80.31%, while West Garo Hills followed closely with 80.50%. Other districts like South Garo Hills (88.32%) and West Jaintia Hills (96.03%) also performed admirably, showcasing the overall academic strength of the state.
This year’s results mark a significant improvement in the overall performance of students in Meghalaya. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma praised the students, calling it a "path-breaking result" and congratulated all 341 schools that achieved a 100% pass percentage. "Many congratulations to the students who passed with flying colours in the SSLC, MBOSE examinations. May this first leap to your future motivate you to strive for greater things," he posted on social media.
The SSLC examinations were conducted from February 10 to February 25, 2025, and a total of 63,682 students appeared for the exams. Out of these, 55,473 successfully passed, resulting in the impressive overall state pass percentage of 87.10%, the best since 2021.
Furthermore, a gender analysis of the results indicated that among OBC students, boys recorded a pass percentage of 96.15%, while girls registered 91.53%. In the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, girls outperformed boys slightly, with pass percentages of 87.25% and 86.19% respectively. For Scheduled Caste (SC) students, the pass percentage stood at 81.63% for girls and 80.43% for boys. General category students also fared well in the exams, with boys achieving a pass percentage of 92.08% and girls securing a slightly higher 92.59%, continuing the trend of girls outperforming boys across most categories.
Students can check their results on the official websites: mbose.in, megresults.nic.in, and mboseresults.in. The SSLC marksheet will include essential details such as the student’s name, subject-wise marks, and more. It is important to note that the result card will be provisional. To collect the original marksheet, students should visit their respective schools a few days after the result announcement.
The MBOSE has also announced that the SSLC Supplementary examination will be held within April-May 2025. Unsuccessful candidates of the main SSLC examination 2025 can appear in the failed subjects only in the Supplementary exam.
