The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has officially declared the results of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) or Class 12 examinations today, May 5, 2025. The results were made public at 10:00 AM, ending the anticipation of thousands of students across the state. Students who appeared for the board exams can now access their scores by visiting the official portals — mbose.in, mboseresults.in, and megresults.nic.in. Additionally, results have been uploaded on results.digilocker.gov.in and indiaresults.com for wider accessibility.
To check their results, candidates can follow these steps: go to the official MBOSE website, click on the “MBOSE HSSLC Result 2025” link on the homepage, enter their login credentials (roll number as mentioned on the admit card), and submit to view their result. They can then download or print the scorecard for future reference.
While digital mark sheets are available for immediate download, the original documents will be issued by respective schools within the next two weeks. Students who did not meet the minimum pass criteria in one or two subjects will be eligible to appear for supplementary examinations, which are expected to be conducted in July 2025. The official schedule for these exams will be released in due course.
For those dissatisfied with their results, the window for revaluation applications is expected to open by mid-May. Further instructions regarding the process and fees will be provided by MBOSE shortly.
This year, the MBOSE conducted the Class 12 board exams from February 18 to March 19, with the practical component held between February 4 and February 14. The overall pass percentage for the HSSLC results stands at 82.05%, with female students outperforming their male peers significantly. The pass percentage for female students is 89.37%, while for male students, it is 84.17%. The overall pass percentage for regular students is recorded at 87.34%.
In the Science stream, Saptarshi Bhattacharjee topped the board with an impressive score of 483 marks. Disha Chokhani emerged as the top scorer in the Commerce stream with 481 marks. In the Arts stream, Albert Mate and Idawanplishisha Swer secured the top position with 455 marks each.
To provide context, here are the overall pass percentages from previous years: in 2024, the overall pass percentage was 73.76%; in 2023, it was 79.74%; in 2022, it was 93.91% (based on alternative assessment during COVID-19); in 2021, it was 92.77% (pandemic evaluation); and in 2020, it was 76.07%. This year's results indicate a notable improvement over the previous year.
Students can also check their results via SMS by sending a text message in the following format: for Science, send "MBOSE12SROLLNUMBER"; for Arts, send "MBOSE12AROLLNUMBER"; and for Commerce, send "MBOSE12CROLLNUMBER" to 56263.
The MBOSE has confirmed that results will not be physically displayed at its Tura or Shillong offices. Instead, the complete result booklets will be available for download from the board’s official website. Students are advised to carefully review their details before downloading the result for future reference.
