The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has officially declared the results for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2025, revealing a remarkable overall pass percentage of 87.10%. This marks a significant increase from last year's pass rate of 55.80%, demonstrating a substantial improvement in student performance across the state.
Conducted from February 10 to February 25, 2025, the SSLC exams saw 63,682 students participate, with 55,473 successfully passing. This year's results have sparked a wave of celebration among students, educators, and parents alike.
Leisha Agarwal and Avila Kathrene P Lyngdoh emerged as the top scorers, each securing an impressive 582 marks. Following closely are Evanshan Nongrum and Pori Panday, both achieving 578 marks, while Anushmita Choudhury, Sourav Pandey, and Eulogemene Rilin L Suting tied for third place with 576 marks each. These high achievers represent a blend of schools from across the state, highlighting the diverse academic excellence present in Meghalaya.
The results were announced on April 5, 2025, at 11 AM, with students able to check their scores on the official MBOSE websites, including mbose.in, megresults.nic.in, and mboseresults.in. The results will include essential information such as the student's date of birth, roll number, subject-wise marks, and grades, ensuring transparency and accuracy in reporting.
West Jaintia Hills district has been recognized as the best-performing district in this year's examination, with a staggering pass percentage of 96.03%. Out of 5,065 students who appeared for the exam from this district, 4,864 successfully passed. Other districts that performed well include Eastern West Khasi Hills with a pass percentage of 95.54%, and South West Khasi Hills at 94.93%.
In contrast, South West Garo Hills recorded the lowest performance, with a pass percentage of 74.77%. The overall rise in pass percentages across various districts reflects the hard work and dedication of both students and educators, contributing to the overall success of the MBOSE SSLC Examination.
Among the categories of students, the results show a notable performance from female candidates across various classifications. For instance, female students in the REGULAR-1 category achieved a remarkable pass rate of 94.55%, while their male counterparts recorded a pass rate of 95.32%. In the REGULAR-2 category, females also excelled with an 86.64% pass rate compared to 85.04% for males.
The MBOSE results also highlighted the performance of students from different backgrounds. Among Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates, boys achieved a pass rate of 96.15%, while girls followed closely with 91.53%. In the Scheduled Tribe (ST) group, girls narrowly led with a success rate of 87.25%, compared to 86.19% for boys. Scheduled Caste (SC) students showed consistent results, with 81.63% of girls and 80.43% of boys passing the examination.
The improvement in the overall pass percentage is attributed to several factors, including the elimination of the Selection Test, which aimed to increase accessibility and reduce academic barriers for students. This change has allowed more students to participate in the exams, resulting in a higher number of candidates appearing this year compared to previous years.
Meghalaya's Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, expressed his congratulations to the students, stating, "Many congratulations to the students who passed with flying colours in the SSLC, MBOSE examinations. May this first leap to your future motivate you to strive for greater things." He acknowledged the efforts of all 341 schools that achieved a 100% pass percentage, further emphasizing the collective achievement of the educational institutions in the state.
Students who did not pass the examination will have the opportunity to take the Supplementary examination, which is scheduled to be held between April and May 2025. This allows unsuccessful candidates to appear for the failed subject(s) only in the Supplementary exam, providing a second chance for those aiming to improve their scores.
For students eager to check their results, the process is straightforward. They simply need to visit the official MBOSE website, enter their roll number and other required details, and submit to view their results. The MBOSE has also provided an SMS option for students who may face difficulties accessing the website due to high traffic. By texting "MBOSE10 " to 56263, students can receive their results directly on their mobile devices.
The MBOSE SSLC results for 2025 not only reflect the hard work of students but also signify the ongoing commitment to improving educational standards in Meghalaya. With a record pass percentage and numerous high achievers, the future looks bright for the students of this state.
