Megayacht ‘Faith’ Passes Through Alphen On Route To Rotterdam

Residents of Alphen aan den Rijn witnessed a spectacular sight on March 19, 2025, as the nearly 80-meter long megayacht Faith sailed through the town. Built by the renowned yacht manufacturer Feadship, Faith was on its way to Rotterdam for its first round of sea trials, marking a significant milestone in its development.

The luxurious vessel, officially known as Project 714, boasts an impressive length of 79.95 meters and showcases a distinct blue hull along with a sleek, modern design crafted by the design firm RWD. Ownership of this masterpiece belongs to Lawrence Stroll, a billionaire businessman and boss of the Formula 1 team Aston Martin, who was present for the yacht's journey, monitoring the transport from a salon boat.

"The yacht, known as Project 714, was built at the Feadship shipyard in Aalsmeer and is 79.95 meters long," reported Schuttevaer. With an estimated volume of 2,500 gross tons (GT), the planning for this remarkable yacht began back in 2021. Initially constructed at Scheepswerf in Slob, located in Papendrecht, the hull was later transported at the end of 2023 to the Feadship facility for completion.

Now, the yacht is being transferred to Rotterdam by Koninklijke Van der Wees, using its vessels Pieter van der Wees and Broedertrouw XIV. This careful coordination illustrates the meticulous planning that goes into transporting such a high-value asset across waterways.

After completing initial sea trials, the yacht is set to sail directly to Monaco for the Grand Prix, marking its debut at a significant event for motorsport enthusiasts. Following the race, Faith will return to the Netherlands for further interior finishing, ensuring it meets the lavish expectations of its well-heeled owner.
