McDonald's is teaming up with the popular video game Minecraft for its latest collaboration, in celebration of "A Minecraft Movie," which premieres April 4, 2025. The restaurant chain is introducing the "A Minecraft Movie" Meal and "A Minecraft Movie" Happy Meal across McDonald's U.S. restaurants this April. "McDonald's fans had already created a presence in the Minecraft game long before the opportunity to partner with the new film," Jennifer "JJ" Healan, McDonald's vice president of U.S. marketing, brand, content, and culture, said in a statement. "So, we built upon what they started and created a totally immersive experience, custom 'A Minecraft Movie' Meals in our restaurants, and collectibles that unlock unique in-game features. What's special about this campaign is that every component will feel recognizable to both fan bases -- a true merging of the McDonald's and Minecraft universes."
To go with the limited-time releases, McDonald's is enticing customers with gaming exclusives, codes, and collectibles. The "A Minecraft Movie" Meal, which consists of a Big Mac sandwich or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets with medium fries and a drink, comes with one of six collectibles, as well as an accompanying card and code for a matching skin within the Minecraft game -- Big Mac Crystal, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Grimace Egg, Soda Potion, or Zombie Hamburger. Purchases of the "A Minecraft Movie" Meal will also give players a redeemable code for a McDonald's add-on pack in-game. The Chicken McNuggets meal will also include the option of a limited-time Nether Flame sauce, a hot sauce made with cayenne and crushed red pepper, inspired by The Nether, a dimension in Minecraft. Nether Flame sauce can also be added to any McDonald's order outside of the special meal.
Happy Meal fans can also collect up to 12 Block World toy figurines in the "A Minecraft Meal" Happy Meal. The special Happy Meals will also have a code that lets players unlock an exclusive digital game on HappyMeal.com that is set in the world of "A Minecraft Movie." McDonald's Minecraft-themed meals and toys are available now. "A Minecraft Movie" will be released in theaters April 4, 2025.
Starting April 1, 2025, McDonald's has partnered with the video game and fans can select from two themed meals: one for adults and one Happy Meal. Both versions will have access to digital experiences, six custom-designed collectibles, or 12 film-inspired figurines. The special edition meals with limited figurines are available for purchase at McDonald's restaurants nationwide starting April 1, 2025, three days before the "A Minecraft Movie" hits theaters.
The 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal option comes with the Nether Flame Sauce, a limited-edition spicy but sweet sauce made with crushed red pepper and flaming cayenne, balanced with hints of garlic and sweetness. McDonald's customers can choose between two entrées, a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, to accompany their meal, along with a drink, fries, and a limited-edition collectible. The "A Minecraft Movie" Happy Meal includes hamburgers or Chicken nuggets, fries, apple slices, drink options, and one of 12 film-inspired figurines.
The Happy Meals come with a scannable code to unlock an exclusive digital game where players can complete their quest in the "A Minecraft Movie" world on www.happymeal.com. Customers can get one of 12 Block World toys in the Happy Meal, or one of six exclusive collectibles inspired by some of McDonald's most beloved characters, menu items, and popular "A Minecraft Movie" treasures, depending on the meal chosen. The collectible features a matching card and a code that customers can redeem in the Minecraft Marketplace to unlock an exclusive digital costume.
The six characters available are: Big Mac Crystal, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Grimace Egg, Soda Potion, and Zombie Hamburglar. Every "A Minecraft Movie" Meal purchased on the McDonald's app also gives customers an in-game bonus at no extra cost. A one-time redeemable code will be sent to customers to unlock the McDonald's Add-On pack in Minecraft, which includes additional components to your gameplay such as McDonaldland characters, builds, and tools.
In anticipation of the movie's release, McDonald's is offering two special meals for fans of Block World. And you don't have to be a kid to get your hands on one of the meals, which come with collectibles or figurines. The themed meals based on the popular video game have been available at McDonald's since April 1, 2025, one for adults and the other a Happy Meal for kids.

The six collectibles were inspired by some of McDonald's most beloved characters and menu items, and popular 'A Minecraft Movie' treasures. Each collectible comes with a matching card and a code fans can redeem to unlock the corresponding, exclusive skin in the Minecraft Marketplace. The six collectibles available are: Big Mac Crystal, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Grimace Egg, Soda Potion, and Zombie Hamburglar. As of March 11, 2025, there were 13,622 McDonald's restaurants in the U.S., with California having the most (1,224), followed by Texas (1,196) and Florida (882).
