Mauro Coruzzi Hospitalized Again Amid Health Concerns

The beloved radio host, known as Platinette, shares updates from his hospital bed after battling serious health issues since 2023.

Mauro Coruzzi, widely recognized by his stage name Platinette, has found himself back under medical care, as he recently announced his hospitalization due to health complications linked to his previous ischemic stroke. Coruzzi shared the news via social media, giving followers a glimpse of his hospital stay through a candid Instagram video where he jokes about his situation.

On February 25, 2025, he posted, "Forse è stato il volere divino" (Perhaps it was divine will), as he lay on a hospital bed. His voice, noticeably strained, echoed the concerns of many of his fans who have followed his career with devotion. "Questo che vedete è un letto d'ospedale. Sono ricoverato per controlli" (This you see is a hospital bed. I am hospitalized for checks), he explained, making light of his circumstances.

Coruzzi had been feeling unwell just before the renowned Festival of Sanremo, stating, "Forse è stato un modo per tenermi lontano dal Festival, ma nemmeno tanto a dire la verità" (Perhaps it was a way to keep me away from the Festival, but not really, to be honest). This event marks one of Italy's most significant music festivals, which he has always passionately followed and participated in over the years.

The radio host and television personality's health concerns first raised serious alarms during his preparations for a musical back in March 2023. While working with his personal trainer, he suddenly lost his ability to speak. Fortunately, his trainer recognized the severity of the situation and swiftly transported him to Milan's Niguarda Hospital. There, he was diagnosed with ischemic stroke, enduring two months of hospitalization, followed by extensive rehabilitation efforts to regain his speech and mobility.

Yet, the road to recovery has proven challenging. Coruzzi's recent updates highlight the struggle he continues to face: "Sono lontano dalla persona che ero. Fatico ancora anche con le scale, specialmente quando scendo" (I am far from the person I was. I still struggle even with the stairs, especially when going down). This poignant reflection captures the emotional and physical toll of his ordeal and stands as a reminder of his courage throughout his recovery.

His recent health episode, which necessitated hospitalization again for check-ups, raises questions about his well-being and long-term recovery. His video has sparked considerable concern among fans and fellow entertainers alike, reflecting Coruzzi's prominent role within the Italian entertainment scene. Colleagues and followers showered him with messages of support and well wishes, with many expressing how much they miss his presence on social media and television.

Coruzzi's humor shone through even during this tough time, as he lightheartedly spoke about how he hopes to return home soon: "Adesso facciamo i controlli e dopo un paio di settimane andiamo a casa. Spero. Ok?" (Now we do the checks, and after a couple of weeks, we go home. I hope. Okay?). His resilient attitude and commitment to healing could serve as inspiration for many who grapple with similar circumstances.

This entire experience has deeply impacted Coruzzi, leading him to engage with A.L.I.Ce. Italia Odv, the Italian association for stroke awareness. This organization works to combat strokes and advocate for education on the subject—issues close to Coruzzi's heart after his harrowing experience.

The storm of health issues he has faced has not only overshadowed his professional life but also reshaped his perspective of it. His recent hospitalization serves as another reminder of the importance of health—a lesson he is eager to share with others. Despite facing another setback, it seems Mauro Coruzzi is intent on returning to his vibrant self for his fans and continuing to contribute to the conversation on health and wellness.
