Mathieu Stepson Wins 'La France A Un Incroyable Talent' Season 19

The magician takes the top prize as dancer group 'Unverdance' finishes second

The results of the 19th season of 'La France a un Incroyable Talent', the popular talent show airing on M6, were unveiled with excitement and drama on December 20, 2024. The finale showcased the incredible talents of ten finalists, with magician Mathieu Stepson claiming victory. Demonstrated not only his skills but also the intensive preparation he undertook leading up to the high-profile finale.

Mathieu Stepson’s magical performance won him the top spot, overcoming stiff competition from various acts, particularly the dance group 'Unverdance', who secured the second position. The audience watched with anticipation, as reported, 2.79 million viewers tuned in, which resulted in 14.3% of the public share. He emerged victorious with a cash prize of €100,000, making him the second magician ever to win this contest.

Mathieu commented, "When Karine said it was between 'Unverdance' and me, I thought it was all over... until I heard my name called." His victory not only highlights his individual talent but signifies the delicate balance and competition within such shows. Every act contributes uniquely, making the end results even more surprising.

'Unverdance', known for their unique reverse dance routine, captivated both the audience and judges. Their performance included impressive choreography set to energetic music by ACDC, which electrified the stage and captured the judges' attention. Karine Le Marchand, the show's host, commended their performance by exclaiming, "Bravo les filles!" acknowledging their stellar effort. The fifth-place participant, Jean-Baptiste Seguin, also drew significant admiration. Acknowledged by his local community of Cuers, his performance showcased the talent within the region, reflecting shared pride. The local municipality expressed heartfelt congratulations, stating, "Une fierté locale qui met en avant toute la commune," which translates to "a local pride highlighting the entire municipality," emphasizing the communal support behind Seguin.

The finale not only spotlighted individual talents but also illustrated impressive viewership dynamics throughout its season. The overall season, capturing 3.6 million viewers on average for the first half, became highly popular among the target demographic of women aged 50 and under. Audience ratings began strong but saw fluctuations, with the finale representing the lowest viewing figure since 2017. Despite this, the overall performances sustained M6’s competitive edge among French broadcasting networks.
