Massive Fire Breaks Out In Dharavi After Truck Explodes

A massive fire erupted on March 24, 2025, when a truck carrying gas cylinders caught fire in Dharavi, Mumbai, near Nature Park in the PNGP Colony. Traffic was heavily affected in the area, leading authorities to close parts of the Sion-Dharavi Link Road and divert bus routes, which included the popular BEST services operating from BKC to Dharavi T Junction. Commuters were advised to plan their journeys accordingly as bus routes 7, 22, 25, A25, 312, 341, 411, and 302 were notably impacted.

"The situation is now fully under control," an official stated as firefighting efforts reached a successful conclusion. As of late Monday night, efforts to ascertain the cause of the fire were underway, although initial findings suggested the fire was confined to the truck that carried cooking gas cylinders.
