The upcoming season is expected to take players to Krakoa, the mutant homeland, where the iconic Hellfire Gala is held. Emma Frost, a character long anticipated by fans, will host this glamorous event. Emma Frost will be introduced as a new Vanguard-class hero at the start of the season, equipped with a versatile toolkit that showcases her telepathic abilities and diamond-hard form. Her arrival has been highly anticipated, as she has been rumored to join the roster since Season 1. Meanwhile, Ultron is confirmed to join the game later in the season, specifically with the mid-season 2.5 update, although details about his role remain under wraps.
Season 2 will also introduce two new maps, the first being HELLFIRE GALA: KRAKOA, which features vibrant botanical landscapes and an elegant atmosphere filled with fireworks. "After extensive internal discussions and thorough evaluations, we’ve decided that starting from Season 3, the seasons will shift to a two-month format, with a new hero debuting each month," Chen stated.
As for the upcoming Hellfire Gala skins, players can expect an elegant red-carpet theme that will be available on the same day as the season's launch. The official trailer, released on April 3, 2025, showcases new skins for popular heroes including Luna Snow, Magneto, Cloak and Dagger, Black Panther, and more. The skins are inspired by the Hellfire Club from Marvel's lore, a mysterious organization comprising elite and powerful individuals.
Among the heroes receiving new skins, Emma Frost's design features a stunning blue-and-white dress with sharp ice accents, while Captain America dons a navy blue and red pinstriped suit. Bruce Banner, aka Hulk, will sport a vintage steampunk look with a fedora and gold jewelry, while Hela dazzles in a geometric black and gold outfit. Black Panther will showcase a vibrant purple patterned sash, and Magneto will appear in a royal suit adorned with gold shoulder pads.
Additionally, the Hellfire Gala skins are expected to influence the competitive meta, as many of the heroes included are already popular picks. For instance, Cloak and Dagger boast a 52% pick rate in competitive queues above Diamond, while Magneto holds a 42.83% rate. The introduction of these skins could potentially elevate the pick rates of less frequently chosen heroes like Wolverine and Hulk, who currently sit at around 6.44% and 6.36% respectively.
Players eager to purchase the new Hellfire Gala skins can find them in the "Store" tab of the game’s homescreen upon release. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, past bundles have ranged from 1,600 to 3,500 Units, giving players an idea of what to expect.
