Mario Casas Wows Buenos Aires With Star Power

The Spanish actor promotes Antonio Banderas' fragrance and charms fans during his brief visit.

Spanish actor Mario Casas has taken Buenos Aires by storm during his brief visit to promote the new fragrance, The Icon Supreme, by famed actor Antonio Banderas. Filming a commercial alongside influencer Stefi Roitman, Casas has not only captivated fans on the streets but also made a splash at an exclusive promotional event attended by numerous local celebrities.

Arriving on March 26, 2025, Casas is staying at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel, accompanied by his sister Sheila and two close friends. Despite his busy schedule, he seized the opportunity to explore some of the city’s iconic landmarks, including Caminito and the Obelisco. "It’s a pleasure to be here in Buenos Aires, although we don’t have much time to enjoy. I leave tomorrow, but I’ve had the chance to stroll around a bit, and it’s a pleasure," he expressed during a media interaction.

This marks Casas’ first visit to Argentina since 2010, when he came to film Carne de Neón. His popularity in the country has soared since then, thanks to his roles in hit series like Los hombres de Paco and films such as Tres metros sobre el cielo. At 38, he has established himself as a versatile actor, winning a Goya Award in 2020 for his performance in No matarás.

The promotional event for The Icon Supreme was a star-studded affair, featuring local personalities like Pampita, Marcos Ginocchio, and Julieta Poggio. The excitement surrounding Casas’ presence was palpable, with fans flocking to catch a glimpse of the beloved actor. His visit not only highlights his enduring popularity but also his connection with the Argentine audience, who have long awaited his return.

During his stay, Casas took the time to engage with fans and the media, even participating in a streaming interview with Migue Granados at his OLGA channel. He expressed a desire to work in Argentina again, stating, "I would love to come back to work here. Many times, shooting a film abroad gives you the chance to learn more about the culture and the country." He also fondly mentioned Argentine actor Ricardo Darín, noting, "In Spain, he is someone very, very beloved."

As part of his promotional activities, Casas participated in a photo shoot at various picturesque locations around Buenos Aires. The shoot, aimed at showcasing the new fragrance, drew attention from tourists and locals alike. "People were shouting, ‘It’s Mario Casas! Mario, can we get a photo, please?’ and ‘We want to dance tango with you!’" shared a bystander who witnessed the commotion at Caminito.

Casas’ appearance at the Obelisco was equally eventful, with a white motorhome serving as both transportation and a changing room for the actor and Roitman. Dressed in a stylish denim outfit, Casas posed for the camera while managing the chaos of traffic and curious onlookers. "It’s a gift for me that Antonio chose me. For me, Antonio is an icon. I’ve known him for 20 years; my first movie as an actor was directed by him, and four years ago he called me to join him on this journey, so I’m happy and grateful," he commented about his collaboration with Banderas.

Despite his packed schedule, Casas has managed to indulge in some of Argentina’s culinary delights, particularly his newfound love for alfajores. "I’m really happy with all the alfajores I’m getting. I must have eaten about 20 already," he confessed with a laugh, while also noting that he has kept up with his gym routine to balance his indulgences.

As his visit progresses, he has received warm welcomes from fans, along with traditional gifts such as a mate, which he humorously admitted he wasn’t sure how to prepare. He was also gifted a jersey of the Argentine national team, further endearing him to the local audience.

Mario Casas’ whirlwind trip to Buenos Aires is not just a promotional venture; it’s a reaffirmation of his strong ties with the Argentine public. His charisma and talent continue to resonate, and as he prepares to depart for Madrid on March 29, 2025, he hinted at a potential surprise for his fans in the near future, leaving them eagerly anticipating his return.

In a world where celebrity culture often feels distant, Casas’ genuine interactions and enthusiasm for Argentine culture remind fans of the human side of stardom. Whether through his performances or personal engagements, he remains a beloved figure, not just in Spain but across the Spanish-speaking world.
