Marco Liorni To Host Rai 1's New Year's Eve Special

The popular L'Anno che Verrà celebrates 2024 with top musical acts and new hosting talent.

Rai 1 is set to continue its beloved New Year's Eve tradition with the 2024 edition of L'Anno che Verrà, featuring Marco Liorni as the new host. This will mark the first time since 2015 when Amadeus helmed the special.

Scheduled for December 31, 2024, the event will return to the picturesque lungomare Italo Falcomatà in Reggio Calabria, after last year’s stop in Crotone. The evening promises to be filled with musical performances, comedy sketches, and other forms of entertainment, creating the perfect backdrop for Italians ringing in the New Year.

The festive atmosphere of L'Anno che Verrà has become synonymous with New Year’s Eve for many families, drawing millions to their screens. Last year, the 21st edition of the show attracted 6.2 million viewers, translating to a remarkable 40.1% share, solidifying its place as a staple of holiday viewing.

This year’s lineup is already shaping up to be impressive. According to the first promotional spot released by Rai, viewers can expect to see notable performances from various artists including Alex Britti, Anna Oxa, Arisa, BigMama, Clementino, and Cristiano Malgioglio, among others. The rich blend of genres promises to cater to diverse tastes and keep audiences entertained throughout the evening.

Also joining the lineup are Diodato, Ermal Meta, J-Ax, Leo Gassman, Los Locos, Nino Frassica, Patty Pravo, Donatella Rettore, Ricchi e Poveri, Romina Power, Sal Da Vinci, and Sandy Marton. With the press conference scheduled for December 30, there remains the distinct possibility of additional surprise appearances, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.

The essence of L'Anno che Verrà extends beyond mere entertainment; it offers viewers the chance to celebrate collective cultural moments. It's not just about the performances; it’s about the shared joy and anticipation of the New Year. Many Italians enjoy watching the show as they gather for traditional meals featuring lentils and prepare for the countdown.

Fans of the show can join the conversation on social media, with one Twitter user humorously commenting, "...ci vado l’anno prossimo 🤣😭" reflecting the excitement and tradition associated with the program.

With the return of familiar faces and the introduction of new talents under Liorni's guidance, L'Anno che Verrà is poised to offer yet another unforgettable night. Viewers await the culmination of this artistic celebration, ensuring they mark their calendars to welcome 2025 with music, laughter, and joy.

The 2024 edition of L'Anno che Verrà promises to continue the legacy of Rai 1's end-of-year specials, providing entertainment and spark to the Italian New Year's celebration, tying generations together through the warmth of song and festivity.
