Manchester United Announces Exciting Asia Tour Schedule

The iconic club prepares for matches in Malaysia and Hong Kong this May

Manchester United is gearing up for an exciting post-season tour of Asia, marking a significant return to the region after several years. The club, one of the giants of the English Premier League, has confirmed plans to visit Malaysia and Hong Kong for two friendly matches following the conclusion of the current season.

The tour is set to kick off with a match against the ASEAN All-Stars on May 28, 2025, at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. This highly anticipated game will take place at 20:45 local time, which is approximately 19:45 in Thailand. Following this, Manchester United will face the Hong Kong national team on May 30 at the Hong Kong Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 20:00 local time, or 19:00 in Thailand.

This marks a significant moment for the club, as it will be their first visit to Hong Kong since 2013 and their first trip to Malaysia since 2009. The matches are part of Manchester United's efforts to reconnect with their fanbase in Asia and showcase their talent on an international stage.

Omar Berrada, the CEO of Manchester United, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming tour, stating, "The Asia tour can generate substantial revenue for the club, which will help us invest further in our success on the pitch." The tour is expected to bring in approximately £7.8 million, equivalent to around 360 million baht, which is crucial for the club's commercial revenue plans.

As the team prepares for this tour, they will also be looking ahead to the FIFA Day, where players with national team duties will represent their countries between June 2 and June 10, 2025. After a brief break, the squad will regroup for a friendly against Leeds United in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 19, 2025.

Additionally, Manchester United will embark on a pre-season tour in the United States from July 26 to August 3, participating in the Premier League Summer Series. This tour serves as a crucial preparation phase before the new Premier League season begins on August 16, 2025.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Manchester United to Asian soil, as the club has a rich history of engaging with supporters across the continent. The excitement surrounding the matches against the ASEAN All-Stars and Hong Kong national team reflects the enduring popularity of the club and its commitment to global outreach.

Overall, the upcoming Asian tour is not just a series of friendly matches; it represents Manchester United's ongoing efforts to strengthen its brand and foster relationships with fans worldwide. With the promise of thrilling football and the opportunity for fans to see their favorite players up close, the tour is shaping up to be a memorable event for all involved.
