The Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale (MAECI) has announced the recruitment of 200 administrative assistants. This public competition is open to individuals who meet specific eligibility requirements, marking a significant opportunity for graduates seeking careers within the public sector.
The recruitment aims to strengthen Italy's diplomatic and consular network, enhancing the management of administrative, accounting, and international protection duties. Candidates interested in applying must have completed secondary education and hold Italian citizenship.
Applications for the MAECI 2025 positions must be submitted electronically via the online portal, with the deadline set for March 12, 2025. The application process requires candidates to authenticate using SPID, CIE, CNS, or eIDAS credentials, ensuring secure submission. A participation fee of 10 euros is also necessary during the application.
The selection process comprises several stages, beginning with written examinations, followed by oral assessments and possibly optional language tests. The written examination will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions covering areas such as consular law, logical reasoning, and language skills, with candidates required to achieve at least 21 out of 30 points to pass.
Following the written phase, candidates who meet the necessary score will progress to the oral examination, which focuses on evaluating the candidate's knowledge of consular law, public administration, and relevant professional skills. An additional optional language exam can provide candidates with extra points, rewarding proficiency beyond English.
The competition not only provides admission to the MAECI but also offers job stability through permanent contracts. Reserved seats are available for applicants from specific backgrounds, including veterans, individuals with disabilities, and currently employed public servants at MAECI.
This recruitment initiative reflects MAECI’s commitment to enhancing its workforce, expecting over 1,500 new hires by 2026. For candidates aspiring to join Italy's Foreign Ministry, timely application and diligent preparation for the selection procedures are key to success.
The MAECI serves as the pivotal agency for Italy's foreign affairs, responsible for maintaining international relations and promoting Italian interests abroad. With positions available across various embassies and consulates, this is not just any job; it's the gateway to contributing meaningfully to Italy's presence on the global stage.
