PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is set to extend the operational hours of the LRT Jabodebek on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2024. This decision aims to meet the mobility needs of the public, especially for those residing along the routes, including Depok, West Java.
According to Mahendro Trang Bawono, the Manager of Public Relations for LRT Jabodebek, "With a total of 384 trips prepared, KAI is ready to provide transportation services which are more flexible, safe, and comfortable amid the New Year celebrations." This adjustment to the LRT schedule is geared toward easing the traffic congestion traditionally associated with New Year’s festivities.
Residents of Depok wishing to participate in the New Year celebration activities in Jakarta can take advantage of the LRT Jabodebek, which will operate from the Harjamukti station, with its final destination set at Dukuh Atas BNI station.

Mochamad Purnomosidi, the Executive Vice President of LRT Jabodebek, stated, "Because community enthusiasm for celebrating New Year’s has the potential to cause congestion, we hope people can utilize public transport like the LRT Jabodebek so their travels are more comfortable, safe, and smooth." This statement reiterates the organization's commitment to providing adequate public transportation options during busy holiday periods.
Despite the extended operating hours, Purnomosidi confirmed the fare structure remains unchanged – at IDR 10,000 during off-peak times and IDR 20,000 during peak hours, which are from 06:00 to 08:59 and from 16:00 to 19:59 WIB. Outside of these peak hours, off-peak rates will apply.
