Loyalty Programs Expand Travel And Sports Benefits

Thriwe embraces new sports as Emirates and Garuda Indonesia integrate loyalty programs for frequent flyers.

Thriwe, a loyalty programs and benefits company, is stepping up its game by broadening its offerings to include two of the world’s fastest-growing sports: Pickleball and Paddle Tennis. This new phase of expansion is set to resonate well with sports enthusiasts across India, following its earlier success providing similar access to clients in the UAE.

With the booming popularity of these sports globally, Thriwe is dedicated to developing initiatives and benefits to meet changing market demands. Dhruv Verma, Founder and CEO of Thriwe, expressed excitement about this initiative, stating, “We are glad to expand our offerings and evolve with the market demands in India. This initiative reflects Thriwe’s vision to go beyond a single sport and embrace the growth of diverse sports.”

The company plans to provide its users access to over 200 Pickleball and Paddle Tennis courts across the country initially focusing on partnerships with existing facilities, as well as developing dedicated courts to nurture the sports more extensively.

Meanwhile, as travelers seek more rewarding experiences, airlines Emirates and Garuda Indonesia have strengthened their existing alliance by refining their frequent flyer programs. The recent enhancement allows members of the Emirates Skywards and GarudaMiles programs to earn and redeem miles effortlessly through both airlines’ global networks, increasing the value of travel options for frequent flyers.

This agreement, formalized at the Aviation Festival Asia 2025, marks another significant step following last year’s codeshare arrangement. This prior agreement already streamlined travel options across key regions, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond.

Frequent flyers now enjoy enriched travel rewards, including the ability to earn up to two miles per mile flown and redeem tickets across both airline networks. The enhancements include more flexible redemption options, great earning potential, and premium travel rewards such as cabin upgrades and exclusive privileges like shared lounges and priority boarding.

With Emirates serving over 140 destinations and Garuda Indonesia operating 37 domestic and 15 international markets, this collaboration allows travelers to experience seamless global connectivity. Such innovations cater to the increasing desire for efficiency and comfort during travel.

These loyalty program expansions reflect the airlines' commitment to delivering greater value to customers and enhancing their travel experiences significantly. By forging these strategic partnerships, they are not just enhancing customer satisfaction but also responding to the growing demand for flexible and integrated travel solutions.

Both Thriwe’s entry point of enhancing sports offerings and the synergistic airline partnerships exemplify how companies are innovatively responding to the needs of today's consumers, whether those consumers are fitness aficionados or frequent travelers. The result is a richer, more rewarding experience for those engaging with both sectors.

Looking to the future, these expansions are expected to reshape the way sports enthusiasts engage with their hobbies and the manner in which frequent flyers view their travel options. The combination of loyalty benefits and expanded access is sure to meet the interests of demographics increasingly seeking rewarding engagements.
