Lost Shiba Inu Sky Rescued By Hero Dog Trilly

The community unites to find Sky, as Trilly leads the way out of the woods.

Aprica, January 4, 2025 – Sky, the six-month-old Shiba Inu puppy, is safe and sound back with her owner Federica after undergoing quite the adventure on New Year's Eve. The pup went missing on December 31 when the individual walking her, momentarily losing grip, slipped on some ice. Those brief seconds provided Sky with just enough time to dart off on her own.

The events unfolded as families started their New Year's celebrations, which complicated the search efforts. Initially, Sky had been leashed, but after the slip, she took off and disappeared among the woods above the ski slopes at Campetti—never to be seen by her worried owner until days later.

Federica wasted no time and took to social media, sharing heartfelt posts alongside photographs of Sky sporting the distinctive purple coat she had on when she vanished. Her appeal garnered significant attention, being shared over 2,000 times within mere hours, mobilizing the local community. Residents of Aprica stepped up, forming volunteer groups to assist with the search, reflecting their strong bond and commitment to helping one another.

Despite the well-meaning efforts of the community, it was another dog, Trilly, who played the pivotal role in the reunion. Trilly is the four-year-old mixed breed companion of another caring local, who, even after working the night shift at the hospital, was determined to lend her support to finding Sky.

On January 4, hope turned to relief when both Trilly and the missing Sky emerged from the woods together, much to the astonishment of onlookers. “At one point, the surprise: Trilly and Sky, with the latter unscathed, came out together from the woods,” reported Il Giorno, capturing the moment of joy. Sky was returned safely to Federica, marking the end of what had become an emotional rollercoaster for both owner and community.

This heartwarming tale highlights not only the resilience of animals but also the power of community solidarity. Federica expressed her immense gratitude for the outpouring of support and the joy she felt reuniting with Sky. The reunion serves as a delightful reminder of how even under the most stressful circumstances, there are connections between humans and their pets, as well as bonds built within the community.

With the bond renewed and spirits high, Sky can now enjoy the warmth of home, thanks to Trilly’s instincts and the collective effort of concerned citizens who turned anxiety and fear for Sky’s safety back to love and joy. May this experience be fondly remembered as not just the story of one lost puppy, but of many hearts coming together to bring her home.
