The driver of the lorry, a 38-year-old man from Cambridge, has been taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix noted that the eastbound carriageway is closed due to ongoing accident investigation work, with congestion extending to Junction 33 (Milton Interchange).

In response to the collision, National Highways has implemented diversion routes for drivers. Eastbound traffic is advised to exit at Junction 33, take the A10 northbound to Stretham, and then continue on the A1123 through Wicken to rejoin the A14 at Junction 37. Westbound traffic is instructed to exit at Junction 37, head north on the A142, and follow the diversion back to the A14.
