Lollapalooza Brasil 2025 Kicks Off With Star-Studded Lineup

The festival features headliners Olivia Rodrigo, Shawn Mendes, and Justin Timberlake, along with emerging Brazilian artists.

The Lollapalooza Brasil 2025 festival kicked off today, March 28, 2025, at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo, promising an electrifying lineup and a vibrant atmosphere over the three-day event.

This year’s festival features a mix of international superstars and emerging local talents, with Olivia Rodrigo, Shawn Mendes, and Justin Timberlake among the headliners. The festival runs from March 28 to March 30, and attendees can expect performances across four stages, including Budweiser, Samsung Galaxy, Mike’s Ice, and Perry’s by Fiat.

Olivia Rodrigo opened the festival tonight at 10:10 PM on the Budweiser stage, following a lineup that included Dead Fish, Mc Kako, and Girl In Red. Rodrigo is known for her emotional and energetic performances, making her a perfect fit to kick off the festival. Her popularity, particularly among younger audiences, has skyrocketed since her debut, and her presence at Lollapalooza is seen as a major draw for fans.

On Saturday, March 29, Shawn Mendes will take the stage at 9 PM, showcasing his blend of pop and romantic ballads. Mendes, who has a dedicated fan base, is expected to deliver a captivating performance, including hits from his recent work. The day will also feature Rüfüs Du Sol, known for their infectious electronic beats, and Jão, a rising star in the Brazilian pop scene.

The festival's artistic director, Marcelo Beraldo, acknowledged the challenges in curating this year’s lineup, particularly due to increased competition from solo stadium shows and the rising costs associated with booking artists in US dollars. “It’s definitely more difficult,” Beraldo stated, emphasizing that the festival aims to bring globally relevant acts while also supporting emerging artists.

Only 2% of tickets for the festival are sold at full price, with the majority available at half-price or through a social half-price option, which offers a 45% discount with a R$ 20 donation to charity. This pricing strategy aims to make the festival accessible to a broader audience.

Sunday, March 30, will see Justin Timberlake closing the festival with a highly anticipated performance at 9 PM, following Tool at 7 PM. Timberlake, who has not performed in Brazil frequently, is expected to bring a spectacular show, mixing his classic hits with newer material.

In addition to the headliners, the festival showcases a variety of Brazilian artists, including Jão, who will perform on Saturday, and Picanha de Chernobill, who will take the stage on Sunday. These artists represent the growing diversity and richness of the Brazilian music scene, which is increasingly recognized on international platforms.

The festival has also made significant strides in its infrastructure, providing ample space for attendees to enjoy the performances comfortably. With thousands of square meters dedicated to food areas and relaxation spots, the event aims to enhance the overall experience for festival-goers.

For those unable to attend in person, the festival is being broadcast live on platforms such as Multishow, Bis, and Globoplay, with coverage extending to over 50 hours. The broadcasts feature high-quality 4K streaming, allowing fans to enjoy the performances from the comfort of their homes.

As the festival unfolds, it continues to attract attention not only for its musical lineup but also for its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. The event has become a staple in the Brazilian music calendar, celebrating a wide array of musical genres and fostering a sense of community among music lovers.

In preparation for the event, attendees are reminded of the items that are permitted and prohibited at the festival. Guests can bring up to five sealed industrialized food items, cut fruits, and sandwiches in zip-lock bags. However, glass or metal bottles, rigid containers, and various other items are not allowed, ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants.

With its rich history and diverse lineup, Lollapalooza Brasil 2025 is set to be a memorable celebration of music, culture, and community, drawing fans from across the country and beyond. As the festival progresses, the excitement and energy promise to create unforgettable moments for everyone involved.
