Local Businesses Revamp For Community Engagement

West Kirby, Benares, and Solent Hotel launch major renovations to attract new customers and increase satisfaction.

Recent renovations and relaunches across various sectors like leisure, dining, and hospitality are setting exciting new trends for customers eager for fresh experiences. The West Kirby Concourse, Benares restaurant, and Solent Hotel and Spa have all undergone significant transformations aiming to re-engage their communities and attract new clientele.

At the West Kirby Concourse, plans are underway to give the local leisure center and its surrounding area a significant facelift. A report being reviewed by local council members includes recommendations to find funding for aesthetic improvements to the Leisure Center and its immediate surroundings within the next two years. A key element of this initiative involves demolishing the adjacent former medical center, paving the way for a new leisure facility aimed at generating income. This revitalization project aligns with the broader West Kirby masterplan, which aims to rejuvenate the town center.

According to the report, the proposed renovations seek to create more cohesive services by integrating leisure offerings with municipal functions. A consultant review has led to the suggestion of establishing a local authority trading company to manage these leisure facilities, instead of continuing with the existing model, which has been deemed less efficient for providing quality service to residents.

North West Councillor Tom Brown noted the importance of these improvements, saying, "It’s about creating the right atmosphere and opportunities for community engagement, fostering connections through leisure activities." The council is set to deliberate on this proposal at their upcoming meeting on January 23.

Meanwhile, Benares restaurant, located on Berkeley Square and proudly holding Michelin-star status for 22 years, has recently undergone its own significant overhaul. Conducted by the talented interior designer Dale Atkinson, the renovation revitalizes the entrance, bar, and main dining room, fostering a vibrant, colorful dining atmosphere. The new look is intended to reflect modern sensibilities and appeal to both long-time patrons and new visitors.

The restaurant also introduces a fresh new menu crafted by Executive Chef Sameer Taneja, featuring innovative dishes like Dum Ka Truffle Shorba, blending winter truffles with rabbit stew—a perfect warming dish for chilly days. According to Chef Taneja, "This new menu allows us to bring together traditional Indian flavors with modern culinary techniques to excite our guests’ palates." The revamped Benares officially reopened its doors, welcoming guests to experience its new menu starting February 10.

On the hospitality front, the Solent Hotel and Spa, part of the Daniel Thwaites group, has recently finished upgrading its pool hall after three months of renovations. The newly redesigned pool area boasts modern facilities including a salt sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and storm shower, all curated to create a serene environment for relaxation and wellness. General Manager Nathan Chart highlighted the ambitious nature of the project, stating, "Within three months, the pool area had an incredible transformation, delivering an inclusive environment for all those seeking relaxation. Our goal was to harmoniously blend the hotel’s coastal charm with modern, luxurious features."

Each aspect of the redesign draws inspiration from the hotel’s seaside location, adopting soothing blues and lush greenery to emulate the natural beauty found outdoors. Gemma Barratt, group spa director at Daniel Thwaites, emphasized the aim of fostering comfort and elegance, announcing, "We’ve created a space reflecting the natural beauty of our surroundings, providing high-quality facilities and a chic seaside aesthetic." The spa is now open and ready to offer guests new wellness experiences, promoting rejuvenation at the start of the new year.

These renovations and relaunches, whether it’s enhancing the local leisure center’s services or bringing fresh culinary experiences to the table, reflect the broader trend of businesses focusing on improving aesthetics and dynamic offerings to meet consumer expectations. Each establishment aims to enrich customer experiences and cultivate stronger community ties, demonstrating the significance of thoughtful renovations and strategic updates across industries. The coming months are expected to usher in more exciting developments as businesses adapt to the ever-evolving market and consumer demand.
