LG Uplus Launches KidsTopia Experience Center For Global Kids

The new virtual space offers immersive learning about Korean ecology and K-POP culture.

LG Uplus has launched an innovative experience center within its digital kids theme park service, KidsTopia, allowing children globally to explore Korean ecology and culture in a virtual environment. This initiative comes as part of an effort to enhance the experiences of its international young users.

KidsTopia is a unique platform where children can engage with AI characters in a 3D virtual space, learning about foreign languages, animals, dinosaurs, and even outer space. The service is accessible in several countries, including Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand, boasting a cumulative subscriber count exceeding 1.6 million. Notably, about 60% of the monthly users of KidsTopia are international customers, highlighting its growing popularity beyond South Korea.

In response to the rising demand from global users, LG Uplus has introduced an exciting new feature that allows KidsTopia participants to experience 'Getbol', a type of Korean tidal flat recognized for its ecological significance and listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. This virtual representation of Getbol enables avatars to collect over 120 different species of creatures and engage in quizzes, providing an interactive learning experience. Children can learn about native species like minnows, mudskippers, and fiddler crabs, which are often hard to find outside Korea.

In addition to the Getbol experience, LG Uplus has created the 'ifeye' experience zone, where users can immerse themselves in the world of K-POP. The ifeye is a six-member girl group that debuted on April 8, 2025. Within this zone, users can watch videos and photos related to ifeye, as well as enjoy virtual performances by character avatars of each member. They can even follow along with the choreography using their own avatars, making for an engaging and interactive experience.

To further enhance language learning, LG Uplus has introduced an 'AI English Experience Convenience Store'. In this interactive setup, children take on the role of convenience store managers, responding to various AI character customers of different nationalities and professions in English. This real-life conversation scenario is designed to help children learn the language in a fun and engaging way.

Looking ahead, LG Uplus plans to expand the experience zones within KidsTopia and collaborate with various businesses to create additional opportunities for fun and educational virtual experiences. Kim Min-gu, the project manager for KidsTopia at LG Uplus, stated, "KidsTopia's experience-based content, based on K-content, connects friendly cultural codes with learning experiences effectively for the global Alpha generation, providing fun and immersive learning opportunities for domestic and international users." He expressed optimism about future collaborations with companies that have experience-based K-content and K-brands, aiming to target the global Alpha generation.

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, KidsTopia has garnered recognition both domestically and internationally. It recently received the 'Minister of Science and Technology Information and Communication Award' at the 2024 Metaverse Alliance and Autonomous Regulation Performance Sharing Session, along with a Gold Medal in the '2024 Mom's Choice Awards', a global certification program for children's products.

In celebration of Children’s Day in May, LG Uplus is set to renew the KidsTopia homepage and offer a variety of events. Customers who participate in an event through the homepage and install the KidsTopia app by April 30 will have a chance to win a children’s science magazine through a lottery. Additionally, from May 3 to May 5, Korean users will receive avatar accessories to personalize their characters.

This innovative approach by LG Uplus not only enhances children's learning experiences but also connects them to Korean culture and the global community, making KidsTopia a pioneering platform in the realm of digital education for children.
