Leaders Across Turkey Share Ramadan Feast Messages

As Ramadan Feast approaches, leaders emphasize unity, peace, and resilience amidst challenges.

As the holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, leaders across Turkey have taken the opportunity to extend heartfelt messages and well-wishes for the upcoming Ramadan Feast, emphasizing themes of unity, peace, and resilience amidst ongoing challenges.

On March 30, 2025, Kayabey Investment Director Şehmuz Kaya issued a message highlighting the importance of the Ramadan Feast in fostering a spirit of togetherness. Kaya stated that these celebrations are a time when love, tolerance, and mutual assistance are deeply felt. He expressed hope that the joyous occasion would help mend any rifts and promote harmony. "I wish for these special days to erase all grievances and distances in our hearts. I sincerely wish everyone, especially our country and the entire Islamic world, a blessed Ramadan Feast filled with health, abundance, and well-being," Kaya remarked.

In a similar vein, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan released his own message for the Ramadan Feast, congratulating the nation as they celebrate this significant occasion. He referred to Ramadan as a month characterized by mercy, forgiveness, and salvation from hardship, and he expressed gratitude for being able to witness another Ramadan Feast. Erdoğan remarked, "I thank my Lord for allowing us to reach another Ramadan Feast in health and well-being."

However, Erdoğan's message also reflected the somber realities faced by many, particularly in light of ongoing conflicts. He lamented that this Ramadan was once again overshadowed by the suffering occurring in various parts of the world, notably pointing to the escalating violence in Gaza. "The genocide occurring in Gaza is reaching a more horrific dimension, with images that tear at the heart of anyone with a shred of conscience, morality, and reason," he stated, emphasizing Turkey's commitment to providing aid to those affected.

Erdoğan also addressed the situation in Syria, assuring that Turkey is closely monitoring developments and taking necessary precautions. He affirmed that they are aware of attempts to undermine Turkey's stability and vowed not to allow such actions to succeed. "We will continue our efforts towards a 'Terror-Free Turkey' and expect the organization to disband and lay down their arms without further delay," Erdoğan asserted.

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that struck Turkey, Erdoğan highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to aid recovery. On the second anniversary of the earthquake, he announced that 201,000 homes had been delivered to their rightful owners, with plans to increase that number to 453,000 by the end of the year. He expressed determination to fulfill promises made to the citizens affected by the disaster, stating, "We are fully compensating for the physical destruction caused by the earthquake. Each of our losses will forever live in our hearts as we strive to provide new opportunities for those whose lives were turned upside down by this great calamity."

Erdoğan's message also touched on the critical issue of urban transformation in Istanbul, which he noted has been hampered by local government negligence. He pledged that the government would take additional measures to ensure Istanbul is prepared for future earthquakes, saying, "Despite our planning and preparations, we are not achieving the desired speed of transformation due to the negligence of municipalities. We will take effective steps to prepare Istanbul for earthquakes."

In Ağrı, Governor Mustafa Koç celebrated the Ramadan Feast with local officials, institution heads, and security forces. He began his day by visiting police and gendarmerie application points to congratulate the security personnel who maintain peace and security in the city. Koç also took time to visit the family of a martyr, expressing solidarity and support. "Feasts are exceptional days that unite hearts and strengthen our bonds of brotherhood. I wish this beautiful feast brings love, peace, and abundance to all," Koç said during his visits.

In his remarks, Koç acknowledged the sacrifices made by security forces and health workers, extending his gratitude for their service. He wished all citizens, especially the families of martyrs and veterans, a healthy and peaceful Ramadan Feast, reinforcing the message of unity and solidarity that resonates throughout the country during this festive period.

As Turkey observes the Ramadan Feast, it is clear that leaders are not only celebrating the joy of the occasion but also reflecting on the pressing issues facing the nation and the world. The messages from Kaya, Erdoğan, and Koç highlight a collective hope for peace, resilience, and the strengthening of community bonds.

In a time marked by both celebration and reflection, the sentiments shared by these leaders resonate deeply with citizens, reminding them of the importance of compassion and solidarity in the face of adversity. As families and communities come together to celebrate, the call for unity and support for one another remains a powerful theme in the heart of the nation.
