NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is gearing up to close the registration window for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 2 tomorrow, February 25, at 11:50 PM. Students interested in this second attempt should be aware of the impending deadline to secure their registration on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main session 2 exam is scheduled to take place from April 1 to 8, with the agency stating, "Last date for submission of online application for JEE Main 2025 session 2 is 25 February 2025 and there will be no extension of date." This clarifies the urgency for candidates who have not yet registered for the examination.
Following the closure of the registration window, candidates will have access to the form correction facility from February 27 to 28. During this window, they can modify their application particulars and are reminded to proceed with caution, as NTA notes this is the only opportunity provided to make changes. The agency clearly mentioned, "This facility is available to all candidates who have applied for JEE (Main) 2025 Session 2, as well as those who registered for both Session 1 and Session 2." Candidates can make changes to details such as their name, date of birth, examination city, and more.
Those registering for the JEE Main 2025 session 2 will need to fulfill specific eligibility criteria. It’s important to note the JEE Main 2025 registration fees, which are tiered by category: Rs 1,000 for male candidates of the Unreserved, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), Rs 800 for female candidates of these groups, and Rs 500 for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and transgender candidates.
The JEE Main 2025 sessions this year have seen major changes, including revisions to the exam pattern. The updated pattern indicates the omission of optional questions from Section B, leaving only five compulsory questions per subject. Consequently, candidates are encouraged to prepare rigorously, focusing on topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Notably, the results from JEE Main session 1 have already been declared, showcasing impressive performances with 14 candidates scoring the coveted 100 percentile. The performance breakdown revealed only one female topper achieved this success alongside others. This sets high expectations for candidates appearing for the second session, as they strive to secure their places in prestigious institutes like NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs based on their JEE Main scores.
Analysis of past trends suggests the cut-off marks for this upcoming session, which will be revealed post-examination, could range approximately between 92 and 95 percentile for general category students. Candidates who attempted both sessions will benefit as their best scores will be factored to prepare the merit list and All India Rank (AIR) accordingly.
For students still contemplating their registration, it is imperative to act quickly. The online registration-cum-application process is straightforward: visit jeemain.nta.nic.in, access the registration link, submit the necessary details, and pay the applicable fees to secure your entry to one of the most sought-after engineering entrance examinations.
The NTA continues to remind all participants of the importance of adhering to deadlines to simplify this process and maximize opportunities for prospective engineering students. The JEE Main is not just another examination; it serves as the gateway for thousands of aspirants to realize their dreams of entering India's esteemed engineering colleges.
