Also present were former senior leaders of the Party, Government, and National Assembly, along with representatives from various diplomatic missions and international organizations.

During the ceremony, LPRP General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith delivered a comprehensive review of the Party’s journey over the past 70 years. He highlighted the historic victories achieved by the Lao people in their struggle for national liberation, reflecting on the countless hardships they overcame in the process. “The Party has consistently prioritized the interests of the country and its people,” he stated, reinforcing the idea that the close ties with the public serve as an endless source of strength.

Sisoulith emphasized the unity within the Party as the foundation necessary to preserve Laos’ independence and freedom. He also acknowledged the creative policy-making approaches and revolutionary leadership that have characterized the LPRP’s tenure. Furthermore, he took a moment to express his gratitude towards other political parties and international organizations, particularly thanking the Communist Party of Việt Nam and friendly nations for their invaluable support in the struggle for national liberation and in ongoing efforts to develop the country.

In addition to the commemorative ceremony, an exhibition titled “70 Years of the Birth and Growth of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party” opened on March 21, 2025, right before the anniversary celebrations. This exhibition is showcasing nearly 300 images, documents, and artifacts that illustrate the key political events representing the evolution, leadership, and influence of the LPRP throughout its history.

The exhibition, which took place in the heart of Vientiane, aims to promote national prosperity and well-being while encouraging younger generations to uphold the Party’s ideals. It also serves as both an educational and inspirational platform for attendees. As stated by Lao National Radio, the exhibition is significant in showcasing the LPRP’s pivotal role in leading Laos through victory in the national liberation struggle while continuing to contribute to ongoing national development and protection.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, top leaders, including General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith, were in attendance, reinforcing the importance of this celebration not just as a trip down memory lane but as a vital reminder of the Party’s role in shaping Laos’ modern identity. The LPRP was officially established on March 22, 1955, and has since been the leading force behind Laos' development.

Reflecting on the Party’s long-standing history and accomplishments, a prominent theme was the approach to policy-making that has enabled creative solutions in times of crisis that ensured stability and progress in Laos. The legacy of the LPRP continues to influence Laos’ governance and its people’s everyday lives.

As the celebrations come to a close, there is a palpable sense of optimism among the leaders and attendees that the ideals of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party will continue to inspire further national progress and unity, preventing any potential upheaval while laying the groundwork for future success.

This significant celebration not only commemorates past achievements but also acts as a motivational force for the current and next generations of Laos, empowering them to engage actively in the country’s development and maintain the revolutionary spirit that defined LPRP’s journey over the last seven decades.
