A Local Michelin-Recommended Eatery Makes Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants List
Langdon Hall in Cambridge Secures 15th Spot Among Top Dining Destinations
A local Michelin-recommended eatery with a cozy dining room overlooking gardens has made the list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants this year. According to the publication dedicated to ranking the restaurants, Langdon Hall in Cambridge is number 15 on the list. Located east of the Blair community, the secluded area includes a spa and the dining room with lots of windows and upscale eating opportunities.
“It’s a magical place,” Jacob Richler, editor and publisher of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, told CityNews in an interview. “I always enjoy dining there. It’s a very special place.” Richler’s words highlight the charm and allure of Langdon Hall, making it a notable destination for food enthusiasts.
Head chef Jason Bangerter is the brains behind the menus that include tasting options, a specific vegan/vegetarian menu, and many different dishes inspired by the country landscape surrounding the area. “Jason’s very talented, obviously, as have been all the chefs they’ve employed over the years; it’s an institution,” Richler said, emphasizing the restaurant's long-standing reputation for excellence.
At the top of the list is another more secluded eatery, this time in Jordan Station, Ont., near Niagara Falls. Pearl Morissette is an “ambitious fine dining experience,” the restaurant says on its website, that changes the menu often and focuses on regional ingredients. Rounding out the top three are Mon Lapin in Montreal, which is known for its eclectic offerings, and Alo in Toronto, celebrated for its sophisticated dishes and ambiance.
