Registration has started for the second season of the Sport Trek project, part of the presidential platform "Russia is a Land of Opportunity," which invites local residents from the Kuzbass region to enhance their involvement in sports and education. The initiative, launched on March 20, 2025, is a part of a broader national project entitled "Youth and Children," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This time, participants have the opportunity to engage not only in various sports and educational events but also to enter a competition specifically for trainers.
The Sport Trek project is particularly designed for individuals already active in sports, as well as those aspiring to lead a healthier lifestyle. Utilizing a digital platform and the mobile application "Russia is a Land of Opportunity," registered participants can undertake numerous tasks, join events, competitions, and training sessions aimed at enhancing their physical well-being.
Last year, the Sport Trek project generated considerable interest, attracting thousands of participants. "In the past year, the Sport Trek project has already found a response among thousands of people, but it is important to involve as many citizens as possible in projects aimed at supporting health," remarked Gennady Guryanov, first deputy general director of the presidential platform. He emphasized that a key innovation this year is the introduction of a competition for trainers, saying, "I am sure this year the project will reach a new level."
Registration for the competition track will remain open until April 30, 2025, offering local residents a chance to choose from different tracks tailored to their interests. In addition, residents of the Republic of Mordovia will also benefit from a similar opportunity, having experienced a successful first season in 2024, where 35 residents participated. Now, any resident from region 13 can join the Sport Trek project by registering online at sport.rsv.ru.
The project aims to promote sports not only among the experienced but also among newcomers wishing to embark on a journey towards a healthier and active lifestyle. The educational component will allow participants access to training from industry professionals as well as educational content including podcasts, video lectures, and training tips.
In the inaugural season, which began in October 2024, over 20,000 individuals joined the platform. Among them, approximately 2,000 took part in a contest entitled "Collection of Best Practices in Physical Culture and Sports," involving nearly 180 best practices evaluated across five key areas. The educational block reached more than 5,000 users, while the most popular monitor of physical activity engaged over 12,000 participants.
This year, the competition for trainers will be a focal point of the second season. It will consist of two distinct tracks: one for professional trainers and one for amateur enthusiasts. Participants will undergo a brief skill assessment after registration, and based on their results in this assessment, they will be granted access to specific competition tracks. The top performers will earn the chance to attend a further educational program as a part of the DPO initiative.
Ultimately, through the completion of this training, participants will receive invitations to the concluding event scheduled for November 2025. This event promises to feature engagements with renowned guests from the sports industry along with strategic sessions focused on how to boost engagement in mass sports and foster the coaching community.
As the Sport Trek project returns with bright prospects, it fully aligns with the federal initiative "Russia is a Land of Opportunity" and highlights the ongoing commitment to promote sporting achievements and active lifestyles among the population. With the emphasis on reinforcing public health and expanding access to sports, the project is geared to create pathways for personal and professional self-realization in various sectors.
Moreover, as registration approaches its deadline, interest continues to mount, and officials hope that this project can significantly contribute to a healthier society by engaging more citizens in sporting activities. Significant efforts are underway to ensure that the Sport Trek project continues to thrive and adapt to the expectations of its participants, reinforcing the belief that a strong sports community can impact the broader social fabric.
