KTM Launches New 2025 390 Adventure Range

Significant upgrades and pricing reveal KTM's commitment to adventure motorcycling.

The highly anticipated launch of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure range has finally taken place, with KTM India introducing two exciting models—the KTM 390 Adventure and the KTM 390 Adventure X—in Pune, India. Priced at ₹2.91 lakh for the Adventure X and ₹3.67 lakh for the more feature-rich 390 Adventure, these bikes promise to redefine the adventure motorcycling experience.

Brought to the market with innovative features and updates, both models are constructed on entirely new platforms aimed at improving performance and rider comfort. According to HT Auto, "The new KTM 390 Adventure range is built on completely new platforms and is now more purpose-built than its predecessor." This change reflects KTM's commitment to providing motorcycles capable of tackling rugged terrains and diverse riding conditions.

The visual transformation is evident as well; the 2025 390 Adventure displays modern aesthetics coupled with functionality. This redesign includes slimmer lines and larger bodywork, making the bike more accommodating for taller riders. An enhanced windscreen for improved wind resistance and vertically stacked dual LED projector lights provide both style and practicality for night riding and visibility. The Adventure variant features wire-spoked wheels—21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear—best suited for off-road adventures, whereas the Adventure X, aimed at more touring-oriented riders, is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels.

Powering both the 390 models is KTM's LC4C 399 cc engine, which delivers impressive output figures. With power ranging from 45 to 46 bhp and peak torque of 39 Nm, riders can expect thrilling performance and agile handling. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission, benefiting from features like the assist and slipper clutch and easy shifts owing to the quickshifter technology, which adds to the riding thrill.

Dynamic handling is instrumental for adventure biking, and KTM has ensured both models feature top-notch suspension setups. The standard 390 Adventure is fitted with 43 mm WP Apex USD forks with adjustable settings, along with rear completions capable of 205 mm travel. This is accompanied by adjustable preloads and variability for rebound settings, affirming KTM's rugged riding DNA. Meanwhile, both models come equipped with advanced electronic features like traction control, cornering ABS, and three distinct riding modes suited for Street, Rain, and Off-Road riding, which have become staples among competitive motorcycles today.

The market presence of the 390 Adventure range is noteworthy as KTM targets fierce competition offerings such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Reportedly, "The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure will compete directly against the Royal Enfield Himalayan," thereby highlighting KTM’s strategic positioning within the growing adventure motorcycle market segment. Notably, the BMW G 310 GS and Triumph Scrambler 400 X also stand as formidable competitors worthy of attention from prospective buyers.

The introduction of these motorcycles at EICMA marks KTM's effort to tap not just on seasoned riders but also on newer enthusiasts, seeking adventure motorcycling. Advanced technology, cutting-edge design, and powerful performance deliver not only function but also stand as beacons of style and individuality on the road. Conversely, the streamlined pricing strategy of the Adventure X makes it accessible for those perhaps new to off-roading or touring, enriching the overall customer demographic.

Conclusively, the significance of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure lineup can’t be overlooked. With motorcycles purpose-built for adventure riding, KTM has strategically positioned itself to gain significant traction within the competitive motorcycle segment. Both models display stellar innovations and craftsmanship expected of KTM and are set to inspire adventurous journeys across various terrains for enthusiasts across India and beyond.
