Kris Jenner Embraces New Facelift Ahead Of 70th Birthday

The Kardashian matriarch opens up about her second facelift, her philosophy on aging, and the family’s approach to beauty and transparency.

Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner empire, has once again made headlines for her candid approach to cosmetic surgery. At 69, Jenner underwent her second facelift in 15 years, calling it her personal version of "aging gracefully" and a much-needed "refresh." Her decision to share the details of her latest procedure, as reported by The Independent, was driven by a desire to inspire others who might be feeling less than confident about themselves—an ethos she’s championed throughout her decades in the spotlight.

Jenner’s openness about her cosmetic choices is nothing new. In fact, she’s often brought cameras along to document her journey, whether it’s for her family’s reality TV series or for special interviews. This time, her youngest daughter, Kylie Jenner, accompanied her to the procedure, while Kim Kardashian joined the experience virtually via FaceTime. The family’s trademark transparency was on full display, with Jenner later reflecting on how their reality series has always given them control over their own narrative. "We always retained editing rights," she confirmed, underscoring the family’s commitment to authenticity—even when it comes to their most personal moments.

Fans first started buzzing about Jenner’s youthful appearance in early 2025, speculating about what might be behind her fresh look. It didn’t take long for Jenner to confirm the rumors. Speaking to Vogue Arabia, she explained, "I had a facelift about 15 years ago, so it was time for a refresh. I decided to do this facelift because I want to be the best version of myself, and that makes me happy." She added, "Just because you get older, it doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself. If you feel comfortable in your skin and you want to age gracefully—meaning you don’t want to do anything—then don’t do anything. But for me, this is aging gracefully. It’s my version." According to TooFab, Jenner’s willingness to discuss her procedures openly is rooted in her belief that sharing these experiences can be empowering for others considering similar choices.

Jenner’s journey with cosmetic surgery began decades ago. Her first major procedure was a breast augmentation in the 1980s, following the birth of her first four children. "I had a boob job in the ’80s after four kids, because gravity took over," she recalled on the show Good Work. While she was initially pleased with the results, she eventually felt the implants were too large—especially after welcoming her younger daughters, Kendall and Kylie. "A couple years ago, I felt like they were too big, and I felt matronly and nothing fit anymore and suddenly it was like, get them out! So, the same doctor who put them in, he took them out and then had to do a little lift and then put smaller ones in," she said in a 2015 interview.

Her first facelift came in 2011, performed by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher—a name familiar to the Kardashian-Jenner clan, as he later performed Kylie Jenner’s breast augmentation. Jenner has spoken fondly of Dr. Fisher, writing in an Instagram comment, "Garth you are such a superstar class act!! You did my first facelift in 2011… 14 years ago!!! And made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it’s like and not be afraid. You have taken great care of us always and remain such a close and treasured friend!! Such an incredible talent!!"

But Jenner’s cosmetic journey didn’t stop at facelifts and breast augmentations. In 2018, she opted for earlobe reduction surgery, a procedure she also documented for reality TV. "I learned that your nose and your ears keep growing your whole life," she explained on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. "I think that the decision to do something about my ever-changing ears is suddenly a priority." The quick procedure, performed by Dr. Jason B. Diamond, addressed what had long been an insecurity for Jenner—her large earlobes. In just a few days, she was thrilled with the transformation.

Injectables, particularly Botox, are another staple in Jenner’s beauty regimen. She’s been so enthusiastic about the treatment that she once gifted Botox gift cards to friends and family for the holidays. "It’s a one stop shop for me," she told People. "And who doesn’t love Botox? For me it’s been really great. If you’re responsible, and you talk to your doctor, I think it works. It’s something that I’ve been using for a long time." Despite her fondness for injectables, Jenner insists that her overall approach is relatively simple—favoring treatments that make her feel good, rather than chasing trends or external expectations.

Of course, with fame comes speculation, and Jenner has faced her share of rumors—particularly about rhinoplasty. She’s consistently denied ever having a nose job, stating, "I get a lot of people saying I had my nose done, like people [say], ‘Look at her nose!’ [I] never had my nose done. [I] have the same nose I was born with." She clarified that, at the time, no one in her family had undergone rhinoplasty, though her daughter Khloé Kardashian later did choose to have the procedure.

Jenner’s philosophy on cosmetic surgery is refreshingly pragmatic. "You have to do what makes you feel good, first of all," she shared on Good Work. "You can’t do something because somebody else wants you to do it, and then you have to do great research on the doctor that you choose." Her message is clear: self-care is deeply personal, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to aging or beauty.

As she approaches her 70th birthday, Jenner is reflective but upbeat. She told The Independent that she feels "great and happy," emphasizing the importance of her family as her greatest blessing. Her goal, she says, is to be the best part of their lives—a sentiment that resonates with fans who have watched her guide her children through the ups and downs of fame, business, and personal growth.

Jenner’s willingness to pull back the curtain on her cosmetic procedures has sparked conversations about beauty standards, aging, and self-acceptance. While not everyone agrees with the choices she’s made, her transparency has undeniably helped destigmatize cosmetic enhancements for a generation raised on reality TV. By inviting the world into her journey, Jenner continues to redefine what it means to age on one’s own terms—wrinkles, lifts, and all.

With her signature blend of candor and confidence, Kris Jenner remains a powerful voice in the ongoing dialogue about beauty, self-worth, and the freedom to choose what makes us feel our best—no matter our age.
