In anticipation of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Kostroma is gearing up for a series of significant events that will temporarily affect traffic in the city. Starting from 18:00 on May 6, 2025, until 11:40 on May 7, 2025, parking and stopping will be prohibited on Shirokova Square, particularly between the steles 'Kostroma is a city of labor valor' and the adjacent parking zone. On May 8, 2025, the city will host a youth patriotic event titled 'Victory Wreath' at 18:00 near pier number 2 on the Volga River embankment. To accommodate this event, traffic will be closed from 16:00 on May 7, 2025, until the event concludes, specifically on the section from Molochnaya Gora Street to Tchaikovsky Street. During this time, alternative parking will be available in the central part of the city, near the shopping arcades, on Tchaikovsky Street, and by the Yuri Dolgoruky monument.
Victory Day, celebrated on May 9, 2025, will see further restrictions on transportation along Mira Avenue, particularly from Yuri Smirnov Street to Knyazeva Street. The section from Yuri Smirnov Street to Kalinovsky Passage will be closed from 6:00 to 10:30, while the stretch from Kalinovsky Street to Knyazeva Street will be closed from 6:00 to 13:30. In addition, restrictions will be enforced at the Glory Monument on Mira Square from 6:00 to 22:00, affecting Sennaya and Marshal Novikov streets, along with the Sennoy intersection. As for parking alternatives, residents and visitors can utilize commercial parking lots located near the Kalinovsky market and the Na Sennoy shopping center. These arrangements aim to ensure that those attending the events can find suitable parking options.
