After winning the toss, KKR batted first and reached a commendable 125 runs within the first 12 overs; however, their innings dramatically faltered as the team finished with a mere total of 174 runs. KKR’s captain, Ajinkya Rahane, who hoped for a score over 200, discussed the key turning points that changed the momentum in RCB's favor.
The match got off to a rocky start for KKR when they lost Quinton de Kock early on the fifth delivery, but openers Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane bounced back with an impressive partnership. Rahane noted, "A little bit of dew was there, but they had a very good powerplay with the bat. It (total) was under par. We were looking for 200-plus (score). We don't want to think too much about this game, but at the same time, just try and get better in certain areas.”
