King Charles Champions Nature In New Global Documentary

A new Prime Video film will showcase King Charles III’s decades-long commitment to environmental harmony and his vision for a sustainable future.

Britain’s King Charles III is stepping into the global spotlight once again—this time, not for a royal ceremony or a state visit, but to champion a cause that has defined much of his life. On October 8, 2025, the King announced the upcoming release of a landmark documentary, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, which will debut exclusively on Prime Video in early 2026. The film, a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Passion Planet, and The King’s Foundation, aims to showcase the monarch’s lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship and his unique ‘harmony’ philosophy.

For King Charles, now 76, this is far more than just another royal project. It’s personal—deeply so. In a statement released as the film was announced, he explained, “Nature is our sustainer—we are a part of nature. Therefore, what we do to her, we do to ourselves.” He added, “For much of my life I have sought to promote and encourage ways we can work with, rather than against nature. In other words, to restore balance to our planet, which is under such stress.” According to BBC News, the King’s hope is that the documentary “may encourage a new audience to learn about the philosophy of harmony—and perhaps inspire the same sense of determination it has given me to help build a more sustainable future.”

So, what exactly is this philosophy of ‘harmony’? As described by The King’s Foundation and detailed in his 2010 book, Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, it’s the belief that humans are integrally linked to the natural world, not separate from it. King Charles argues that understanding this connection is crucial for human wellbeing and prosperity—and, ultimately, for the survival of the planet itself. “Never has it been more important for the world to make a concerted effort to protect and prioritise our planet, and to restore our relationship with it,” he urged, as reported by BBC News and Inquirer Global Nation.

The documentary will take viewers on a sweeping journey, from the lush forests of Guyana to sustainable communities in India, and back home to the United Kingdom. It will highlight the work of The King’s Foundation—founded by Charles in 1990 and now celebrating its 35th anniversary—at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland, and at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. These locations are more than just royal estates; they serve as living laboratories for the King’s vision, demonstrating how principles of harmony can be applied to everything from community regeneration and sustainable textiles to traditional craft skills and urban planning.

Director Nicolas Brown, who helms the project, believes the story will surprise many. “Remarkably few people around the world know the full depth of The King’s lifelong battle to bring nature and humanity into harmony,” he said. “Even today, His Majesty’s work with The King’s Foundation is transforming the world in so many inspiring ways. This is a story of hope and resilience. People who watch this film will leave feeling uplifted and motivated. The King’s philosophy offers something for everyone. Mostly, he shows us the power of resilience—and how following your intuition can transform the world.”

The documentary doesn’t just dwell on ideas; it brings them to life with vivid examples. Cameras followed the King during his first harmony summit, held at Highgrove in July 2025, where he welcomed Indigenous leaders from around the globe. Together, they shared knowledge on living in tune with the natural world and participated in a fire ceremony to honor nature. Such moments, the filmmakers hope, will offer viewers a rare and moving glimpse into the King’s decades-long environmental journey—a journey that’s both intensely personal and globally relevant.

Kristina Murrin, chief executive of The King’s Foundation, described the film as “both moving and inspiring to see that journey committed to film.” She emphasized that the documentary will explore the origins, evolution, and scientific foundations of the King’s philosophy, while also documenting how his vision has sparked a global movement. From food production and sustainable textiles to urbanism and traditional skills, the film will show how these ideas have taken root far beyond Britain’s borders.

The timing of the documentary’s release feels especially significant. With the world grappling with climate change, biodiversity loss, and rising environmental anxiety, King Charles’s message carries a renewed sense of urgency. “Never has it been more important for the world to make a concerted effort to protect and prioritise our planet,” he said, echoing the sentiments of countless scientists and activists worldwide. The film’s producers say they hope it will “demonstrate just some of the remarkable work being done around the world to put Harmony into practice.”

Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision is set to air in more than 240 countries and territories, making it accessible to a global audience. Courtenay Valenti, Head of Film for Amazon MGM Studios, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, “We are deeply honoured to bring His Majesty’s pioneering environmental philosophy to Prime Video audiences worldwide through this landmark documentary. Finding Harmony represents the culmination of The King’s lifelong dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship.” Brianna Oh, Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Documentary Features, championed the project, highlighting its potential to inspire viewers everywhere to reconsider their own relationship with the natural world.

The film will also feature King Charles’s reflections as he views special archive footage from across the decades—moments that chart his evolution from a young Prince of Wales, often mocked for his environmental concerns, to a monarch whose ideas are now embraced on the world stage. The documentary promises to reveal the “hope and resilience” at the heart of his vision, showing how persistence and conviction can help reshape society’s relationship with the environment.

Of course, Finding Harmony isn’t the first time a royal has appeared on a major streaming platform. In recent years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix series and Prince William’s appearance on Apple TV+ have demonstrated how the British royal family is adapting to the digital age—using new media to communicate directly with the public and share their personal convictions. But as BBC News noted, this film is different: it’s not just about the King’s biography or his family, but about a philosophy he hopes will outlast him.

As the world awaits the documentary’s release, King Charles’s words ring out as both a warning and a call to action: “It is therefore my fondest hope that this film may encourage a new audience to learn about the philosophy of Harmony—and perhaps inspire the same sense of determination it has given me to help build a more sustainable future.”

With the launch of Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision on the horizon, audiences everywhere will soon have the chance to see the planet—and their place in it—through the eyes of a monarch who has spent a lifetime urging us to work with, not against, the natural world.
