Kim Tae-ri Tops 2024 Actor Rankings

Celebrated performances and rising stars shine brightly this year

The excitement surrounding South Korean dramas continues to captivate audiences, with 2024 shaping up to be another phenomenal year. From the gripping narratives of Tears of the Queen to the exhilarating Running Away from Sunja, dramas have kept viewers eager for more. This year, the spotlight is on the talented actors who have stepped onto the scene, garnering acclaim and admiration.

Recent survey results from Gallup Korea, conducted between November 11 and November 25, revealed the most active actors of the year according to public opinion. Topping the list is none other than Kim Tae-ri, who secured the number one position with 11.9% support. Her performance as Yoon Cheong-nyeon, the lead actress in the popular weekend drama Days of the Right Year, showcased her exceptional acting abilities and drew widespread attention.

Hot on her heels is the talented Kim Soo-hyun, who has previously topped the rankings. He secured the second spot with 11.7% support thanks to his role in Tears of the Queen, which concluded earlier this year. Following closely behind is Kim Ji-won, landing the third position with 8.9% support. The chemistry and dynamic performances among the lead cast members have certainly brought the stories to life, cementing their places as fan favorites.

Byun Woo-seok made waves this year by earning the fourth spot with 5.5% support, marking his debut entry onto the list. His remarkable performance in Running Away from Sunja took audiences by storm, turning him from relative obscurity to fresh star. His character's captivating narrative arc engaged many viewers, proving the depth of his talent.

Other notable names include the fifth-ranked Namgoong Min from Lovers, who grabbed 4.9%, and Han Suk-kyu from So Close Betrayers, with 4.0%. Park Shin-hye, appearing in Judge from Hell, also made the list with 3.7%. The competition among these talented actors displays the rich talent pool within the Korean entertainment industry, each pushing the boundaries of what viewers can expect.

The list then continues with several other impressive actors, including Cha Eun-woo and Kim Seon-ho, both taking significant roles this year. Actress Song Hye-kyo, who remains one of the most beloved stars, also appears, showcasing the esteem with which the public regards her work.

Shifting gears, let's take notice of Park Kyung-young, whose recent performances have risen her popularity significantly. Known for her captivating roles and distinct charisma, Park's recent contribution to the famed Squid Game 2 as the North Korean defector Kang Ha was unforgettable.
