Kia Unveils New EV4 Models Ahead Of Electric Vehicle Day

The innovative designs of the EV4 sedan and hatchback highlight Kia's commitment to modern electric mobility.

Kia Motors Corporation has unveiled the design of its highly anticipated EV4 models—the sedan and the hatchback—just ahead of the 2025 Electric Vehicle Day event slated for February 24, 2025, in Tarragona, Spain. This initiative marks Kia's continued commitment to electric mobility, aiming to attract a broad customer base interested in innovative automotive solutions.

Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Design for Kia, emphasized the core philosophy behind the EV4's design, which is centered on what the company calls 'Opposites United.' This approach harmonizes sharp lines with bold details and advanced technology, setting the EV4 apart from other vehicles within its class. “Kia clearly reflects our commitment to reshaping mobility and pushing the boundaries of what design can achieve, presenting our customers with two distinctive models, 'the sedan and the hatchback,' offering a unique blend of modernity and practicality,” Habib stated.

The EV4 sedan features a sleek, aerodynamic design, characterized by a low hood and elongated rear. This look is complemented by innovative elements such as Kia's signature tiger-nose grille seamlessly integrated with vertical headlights and distinctive star-map lighting—a hallmark of the brand. The model exudes sophistication and innovation, thanks to its sporty yet luxurious aesthetic, featuring 19-inch wheels with complex technical patterns, which echo Kia’s design philosophy.

Meanwhile, the EV4 hatchback presents itself as dynamic and versatile, integrating strong lines with sharp contrasts—like its distinctive C-pillar design—while also boasting substantial 19-inch wheels. The hatchback's rear design mirrors the sedan's bold dimensions, with sculpted lines, wide taillights, and angled rear windows creating a strong visual impression.

One unique attribute shared by both models is their rear wing—perfectly crafted to highlight the car's sporty nature—while the combination of the elegant front bumpers and innovative rear designs reinforces Kia's attention to detail. This design will undoubtedly appeal to lifestyle-oriented customers eager to explore new avenues.

Speaking on the launch, Habib noted, “We want to provide our customers with not just vehicles but experiences, ones aligned with their diverse lifestyles and needs.” The company aims for the EV4 models to meet consumer expectations for electric vehicles, providing innovative solutions for both urban commuting and adventurous road trips.

The 2025 Electric Vehicle Day event will serve as the official platform to release more details about the EV4, including its technological advancements and specifications, promising attendees and viewers worldwide insights on the future of Kia's electric offerings. This event is set to be streamed on Kia's global YouTube channel, offering those interested in eco-friendly automotive solutions the chance to witness the launch firsthand.

Kia, founded in 1944, has been at the forefront of promoting electric and battery-operated vehicles, consistently advancing mobility solutions for over 75 years. With production facilities across six countries and availability in over 190 markets, Kia sells around three million vehicles each year. Its commitment to sustainability and innovation is reflected not just in their product lines, but also through their corporate ethos, endorsed by their slogan ‘Movement That Inspires.’
