Kendrick Lamar Headlining Spilt Milk Festival 2025

The festival returns with a star-studded lineup after a year off.

Spilt Milk festival has officially announced its highly anticipated 2025 lineup, headlined by the renowned rap artist Kendrick Lamar. This marks a significant comeback for the festival, which took a hiatus in 2024, and will take place in four major Australian cities: Ballarat, Perth, Canberra, and the Gold Coast.

The announcement came on May 1, 2025, just a day before ticket requests opened. Kendrick Lamar, who has had a remarkable year, including winning multiple Grammy Awards and delivering a memorable Super Bowl halftime performance, will perform across two weekends in December. The festival kicks off on December 6 at Victoria Park in Ballarat, followed by Claremont Showground in Perth on December 7. The event will continue in Canberra at Exhibition Park on December 13 and conclude at the Gold Coast Sports Precinct on December 14.

Joining Lamar on the lineup is fellow rapper Doechii, who is making her first Australian appearance since winning the Grammy for Best Rap Album this year. Her single, “Anxiety,” which samples Gotye and Kimbra’s 2011 hit “Somebody That I Used to Know,” reached number one on the ARIA Chart, showcasing her rising star power.

The festival's lineup also includes a mix of international and local artists such as Sara Landry, Dominic Fike, Schoolboy Q, d4vd, Nessa Barrett, and The Rions. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, with a diverse range of acts catering to various musical tastes.

Spilt Milk has grown significantly since its inception and has become a staple on the Australian music festival calendar. The festival organizers expressed their excitement about the return, especially after a challenging year in 2024, when they opted to cancel the event, stating they “couldn't get you the Spilt Milk you deserve this year.” Instead, they hosted smaller house parties featuring artists like Troye Sivan and Glass Animals.

Festivalgoers can expect not only a stellar musical lineup but also engaging activities, including sing-alongs at Guilty Pleasures and the return of the country bar Howdy Howdy. The Bus Da Move party bus will also be a highlight, adding to the festival's unique atmosphere.

As Spilt Milk gears up for its 2025 event, excitement builds among fans eager to secure their tickets. The ticket request process opened on May 2, with presale tickets available starting May 8 and general admission tickets going on sale on May 9. The sale times are staggered across different locations, with Canberra tickets available at 8 AM AEST, Ballarat at 9 AM AEST, Perth at 10 AM AEST, and Gold Coast at 11 AM AEST.

The festival's return is not just significant for music lovers but also for local economies, as it aims to support local businesses and celebrate community vibrancy. Ryan Sabet, director and co-founder of Kicks Entertainment, emphasized the importance of the ACT government’s major event fund in making this festival possible, stating, "This funding allows us to keep delivering an unforgettable festival experience while giving back to the city that shaped us. It's about more than music - it's about contributing to the local economy, supporting local businesses and of course, celebrating the vibrancy of our community."

With Kendrick Lamar leading the charge and a stellar lineup of artists, Spilt Milk 2025 is set to be an unforgettable experience for attendees. As the festival approaches, fans are encouraged to prepare for a summer filled with music, fun, and community spirit.

For those looking to attend, be sure to mark your calendars for ticket sales and stay updated through the festival's official website for more details on the lineup and event activities.
