KCET 2025: KEA Releases Key Document Verification Guidelines

Candidates must adhere to specific protocols for successful document verification before the exam dates.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has unveiled important guidelines for the document verification process for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2025, scheduled for April 16 and 17, 2025. This examination serves as the gateway for undergraduate admissions to engineering, medical, and other professional courses across Karnataka for the academic year 2025-26.

The registration for KCET 2025 commenced on January 23 and will continue until February 18, 2025, as per the announcement on KEA's official website at kea.kar.nic.in.

Document verification is pivotal for ensuring each candidate’s eligibility, and the guidelines delineate the specific steps candidates must undertake according to the clause codes through which they registered.

For those candidates who have claimed Clause Code 'A,' there are clear directives based on their medium of study. Candidates who have not studied from Class 1 to 10 in Kannada medium, nor under Rural, Religious, or Linguistic Minority reservations, will have their seven-year study validities verified through the Student Achievement Tracking System (SATS). Successfully verified candidates will receive a claim certificate denoted as “Successfully Verified,” which exempts them from any additional college verification, signifying their applications are accepted without any issues.

Conversely, those candidates who have studied for ten years (from Class 1 to 10) and claimed reservations under the Kannada Medium, Rural, Religious, or Linguistic categories will receive claim certificates marked as “Claimed Verified,” “Claimed Not Verified,” or “Not Claimed.” These candidates are required to visit their Pre-University College (PUC) or 12th-grade institutions with the original documents and one set of photocopies for scrutiny.

The verification process will vary according to other clause codes as well. Students registering under Clause Codes 'B,' 'C,' 'D,' 'T,' 'J,' 'K,' 'L,' 'M,' and 'N' will have their verification schedules published on the KEA website. Meanwhile, candidates who selected Clause Codes 'E,' 'F,' 'G,' 'H,' and 'O' must verify their academic documents at their respective PU colleges. Notably, those claiming benefits related to Defence, Ex-Defence, CAPF, or Ex-CAPF must submit their relevant documents to the KEA for verification separately.

There is also emphasis on the online verification of caste and caste-income certificate RD numbers. This aspect stresses the importance of candidates ensuring their certificates' validity and accurately entering RD numbers during the application process to avert discrepancies.

The officials pointed out the final verification will be conducted by the principals of concerned colleges who will click “OK” after reviewing the documentation. Critical to note, if any falsified or forged documents are identified, KEA retains the right to disqualify the candidates from the counseling process and initiate legal action against them.

To clarify the timeline, the KCET 2025 will be conducted over two shifts on April 16 and 17, with the following timings: the first shift from 10:30 AM to 11:50 AM, and the second shift from 2:30 PM to 3:50 PM. Candidates are advised to download their admit cards starting March 25, 2025, to prepare appropriately.

These guidelines make it imperative for candidates to stay updated with the KEA’s notifications and adhere strictly to the verification processes outlined to secure their positions for the upcoming admission rounds.

For any additional information or clarifications, candidates are encouraged to regularly visit the official KEA website.
