Kazakhstan Launches Mobile Medical Certificate App For Drivers

The new feature allows quick and easy access to mandatory medical certificates with just a few clicks via the eGov Mobile app.

Kazakhstan is making strides to improve accessibility for drivers by introducing the electronic medical certificate form 073/u via the eGov Mobile app. This development allows citizens to obtain their necessary medical documents with just a few clicks, enhancing convenience significantly, according to recent reports from Kazpravda.kz.

The healthcare certificate is mandatory for all drivers, affirming their fitness to operate vehicles. Before this initiative launched, drivers had to secure this document through traditional means, including appointments with four specialized medical professionals: a therapist, psychiatrist-narcologist, ophthalmologist, and otolaryngologist.

Since the introduction of the service on the eGov.kz portal back in November 2024, over 7,000 of these important certificates have been issued. The upgrade to mobile accessibility through eGov Mobile is expected to streamline this process even more.

Previously, citizens could only receive the medical certificate on paper after completing all required medical examinations. With this new system, users are empowered to apply and receive their certificates electronically after undergoing the standard health assessments.

To use the mobile service, users simply need to:

  • Log in to the eGov Mobile app;
  • Select the health services category;
  • Find the service for issuing the medical certificate required for vehicle operation;
  • Sign the application using Face ID or Touch ID.

Following submission, the certificate is accessible in the user's personal account as a PDF. This document remains valid for one year from the date of issue.

This innovative change has been made possible through the collaboration between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, the National Information Technologies JSC, and the Ministry of Health.

Also notable is the progress made by medical professionals within the eGov Mobile application, where users can now access free medications via QR codes based on 470,000 prescriptions issued. This remarkable shift not only benefits drivers but enhances the efficiency of healthcare delivery as a whole across Kazakhstan.

The digital transformation rolled out by eGov marks significant progress toward modernizing public services and simplifying processes for citizens. By using technology effectively, the government is positioned to meet changing expectations around accessibility and innovation.
