ASTANA — During their visit to Kazakhstan on February 25, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and Kyrgyz Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev deliberated on crafting partnerships aimed at advancing both countries' capabilities in the space and digital sectors.
The delegation visited the Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary Space Center, where Kazakh officials showcased significant advancements around Earth remote sensing and monitoring technologies.
These technologies have pivotal applications, including natural resource management, agriculture optimization, emergency response systems, and environmental monitoring. This demonstration underlined Kazakhstan's position at the forefront of space innovation within the region, reinforcing how much these technologies contribute to strategic management of resources.
At the Digital Government office, the Kyrgyz delegation was presented with Kazakhstan's innovative digital solutions, particularly the Social Wallet project. This initiative effectively delivers targeted state support to citizens, enhancing the social welfare system.
Another significant product introduced was the Digital Family Card system, which tracks the social well-being of over 6 million families nationwide. This system exemplifies how technology can be used to monitor and improve the quality of life for citizens.
Both officials exchanged valuable insights on the applications of artificial intelligence within public administration. Kazakhstan has integrated several notable tools, including the eOtinish platform, which streamlines the handling of citizen and business queries, the eNotary system for document verification, and the overarching National AI Platform.
The discussions highlighted Kazakhstan's commitment to nurturing innovative initiatives, especially within the framework of digital governance, where over 10 million users benefit from the eGov mobile app—offering around 1,000 services and supporting the successful facilitation of 72 million services to citizens.
Kasymaliev's official visit marks his first trip abroad as part of his new role, signaling strong diplomatic ties between the two nations. Earlier the same day, he engaged with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, where bilateral discussions emphasized enhancing cooperation beyond technology and space exploration.
The day’s engagements not only reflect the shared aspirations of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan but also highlight the potential for substantial growth through collaborative ventures. Enhanced ties may lead to transformative advancements, benefiting both nations through shared technology and innovation.
